Sacha hasn't been playing bad. As much as it pains me to say it...I've never been a fan. But, since Klinsmann took over, Sacha has played decently.NilesPacMan;1100847 wrote:He's playing alright. Though, I personally believe he holds onto the ball way too long.
Shea wasn't having that great of a game, but I definitely agree about Sacha. Last time I saw him, I wanted to puke all over my TV. Just bad.
Brek didn't have his best game. Jozy bailed himself out with the nice assist to Dempsey -- until then, Jozy stunk it up. I cannot believe Italy ended up with 10-12 offside infringements! Unbelievable. Defensively, we played alright...the offside calls were huge to help us out because we definitely didn't have the speed in the back. We saw spots of possession in the first half, which was nice. The second half was a lot of the "defensive shell" after we took the lead. I don't like that. I would like to see more possession in that situation.
But...Klinsmann is now 5-4-1 as the gipper. The US finally beat Italy. Those are great...can't say the same for the new away kit -- although they did keep the sash, which is nice. -
AutomatikI thought the kits were ok.
I just saw the goal. Nice little layoff by Jozy.

I liked the knew kit, all of it but around the neck. Looked too 1985. -
OSHI don't like the "vest" look. Nor do I like the collar. And, might as well add the two-tone blue. What's wrong with a white sash, or a red sash?
Heck, as I have always complained about...what's wrong with keeping some sort of consistency with the team's kit? It doesn't have to be radically different EVERY time. It can have variations of the same, but at least some sort of resemblance of knowing that a specific kit is what the USMNT has an identity in. -

Laley23What a great win! Sans Landon as well. So pumped when I got the ESPN Alert on my phone. Saw the first half only, and though we were ok. Loved a lot of the 1 touch passing moving forward, but still had too many giveaways and shaky in back.
But, nothing can take away the win. That is a HUGE result for the USMNT.
Oh, and Clint is a fucking boss. I kind of hope he stays at Fulham, but he is going to get some big time offers this offseason, methinks. -
OSHDempsey will leave Fulham.
We'll see Brek in Europe sometime next year or late this year. -
gorocks99In other news, the US U-23 team beat Mexico 2-0 yesterday. I'm not familiar with the Mexican U-23 squad to know if it's any good or not, I do know that the US team had Agudelo and Adu (goals were from Agudelo and Mix Deskerud).

chicago510How does the keeper get beat on either of those goals? Still always nice to beat El Tricolor

Then comes up with the save on the highlight right after the 2nd goal lol.chicago510;1102097 wrote:How does the keeper get beat on either of those goals? Still always nice to beat El Tricolor
Anyway, Mexicos U-23 (as well as U-19 and U-21) team has been the best in the world recently. But Hernandez and both Dos Santos brothers are on the SR team now, along with some of the other stars who's names escape me. So not sure how great they are. Im sure they are still pretty high up though, so good win. -
ohiobucks1I thought Sacha was awful... So was Shea. So was Jozy (til the assist).

chicago510Also, just realized Caleb Porter is the coach of that USA U-23 team. Best coach in college soccer right now?

I'd say so. There are also 4-5 former Akron Zips on the U-23 team I believe.chicago510;1102279 wrote:Also, just realized Caleb Porter is the coach of that USA U-23 team. Best coach in college soccer right now? -
