A huge deal came in the MLS for Real Salt Lake, they have a local station that will be television at least 30 of their games on live tv in HD throughout the season.

This is great! That's definitely a huge step in the right direction for the MLS. Now...if we could get more stations to follow suit.

Interested to see how NBC Sports does in their coverage. I know I'll be happy to get a bit more HD soccer throughout the year (since my cable company doesn't carry FSC in HD)

I just need to work on getting some sort of cable...

I watch most of my stuff online. I'd like to see more things streaming through Xbox, I could carry WatchESPN through it if only my ISP had the ability to do it. I think there'll be a lot of that sort of stuff happening in the near future, more stations will be moving to some PS3, Xbox, and Wii capabilities. The dish/cable companies are going to start lowering prices -- in my opinion.

Barcelona through to the Semis of the Copa-Del-Rey after drawing with Madrid 2-2 at the Nou Camp. They advance on Aggregate 4-3. Play Levante/Villareal winner.

Fortunate win. Nice goal by Zusi. The USMNT almost had a second after a rebound header was saved off the line.

Rimando was shaky and then had a gorgeous kick save. Playing 10-man isn't something this young US team needs to be doing. Especially with the few times that all the guys have played together.

Needless to say, that's a 3-game win streak by the USMNT under Klinsmann! Next game is a tough match against Italy on February 29.

As with most of the European Domestic Cups, it is a random draw.

EDIT: More detailed. This is the final draw, after the lower level teams have played in a few rounds to get to the point that La Liga teams are added. IE, get it down to 12 to add the 20 from La Liga to make a bracket. Its not totally random, as like the World Cup, they are seeded into Pots, so top teams dont meet in round of 32. But as you can see, they can meet fairly early on.

    [h=2]Final phase
[/h]The draw for the Round of 32 was held on 14 October 2011 at 13:00 CEST in La Ciudad del Fútbol in Las Rozas, Madrid.[SUP][4][/SUP]
Like previous years, Segunda División B teams played against the La Liga teams which qualified for European competitions, this is: four teams from Pot 1 (Segunda B) were drawn against four teams from pot 2a (Champions) and the three remaining teams in pot 1 were drawn in the same way with the pot 2b teams (Europa League). The five teams in Pot 3 (Segunda División) were drawn against five teams of the thirteen remaining teams of La Liga (Pot 4). The remaining eight teams of La Liga faced each other. The lowest ranked teams from each match played at home on the first leg and if two teams from a match played in the same division then the first one to come out of the draw played at home first.[SUP][4][/SUP]
The first leg was played on 13 December 2011 except for matches involving teams from Pot 2b, which were played on 8 December 2011 (due to Europa League – Round 6, except for Sevilla which were eliminated from the competition) and the match involving Barcelona which was played on 9 November 2011 (due to Barcelona's pariticipation at the FIFA Club World Cup). The second leg was played on 22 December 2011.[SUP][4][/SUP]

    Wow.
That was the last thing I saw of the game. Coach and I were talking with a player and all of a sudden...DANI ALVES! Amazing goal. It was funny too because Coach was just talking about how much he dislikes Dani Alves...

For those that care. Fulham is playing Everton right now in the 4th round of the FA Cup. Everton just got a 73rd minute goal to go up 2-1. Donovan with TWO assists today.

Though Everton has 2 Americans, I would much rather Fulham advance. Donovan wont be with Everton later on, and Dempsey is the best player on a European team with a chance to make some noise in the tourney. But, Donovan has been the factor for Everton, which is great to see.

Also, FSC pulled a lot of strings to get this game on their network. Even getting Dellecamara (sp) and Wynalda to do the call from the states watching on TV. The pressure they received from Americans to watch Howard/Donovan/Dempsey made them spend the money to get the feed rights and broadcast today. But...soccer isnt growing. Also, trending on Twitter throughout the match.

    America is being pussified.
    That's why soccer is growing.

The MLS misses out on Luca Toni, he's headed to Dubai.

Raul has said that if his Bundesliga side doesn't get him what he wants, he'll be headed to the MLS or Qatar.

I think we'll be running into more and more problems getting certain names. We've lost potential players to Russia, China, Dubai, Qatar, etc. All have LOADS of money to give. As some of these "greats" are entering into their last 5 years of professional soccer, they are stockpiling their retirement money. It's a bummer. But, like the MLS, these other leagues are trying to build their brand too...and they have the money to do it.
