DeyDurkie5tottenham really blew a great chance to move up in the standings with that loss. big game tomorrow against sunderland. Huge game against chelsea on thursday.
That villa injury made me cringe. -
OSHUnited's stay at the top of the table didn't last long...City beat the Arsenal 1-0 to regain the leader position. Shucks.
Anyone see that recently retired MLS-er Gregg Berhalter will be the manager for a Swedish 2nd division side? That's a great accomplishment for a Yank, especially one that just retired.
Davey Becks is supposedly going to announce his move to PSG this week. Somewhere around an 18-month $18.75 million deal. -
OSHMan...the Red Devils got shocked today by Blackburn 3-2. I have no idea what's going on with David de Gea...maybe he's just young, still. He had a howler on the game winning goal in the 80th.
The start the New Year in second place behind City on goal differential. Shucks. Here's the to January transfer window! -

ohiobucks1Chelsea needs to spend BIG in the jan. transfer window
-

I was thinking of this, and with the new CL rules about not being able to play if you have played for your current club is it worth it? Why not just wait till summer?ohiobucks1;1037728 wrote:Chelsea needs to spend BIG in the jan. transfer window
Unless they think they are in danger of not qualifying for Europe next year, I dont think it is really prudent to spend on what I would consider a lost season, EPL wise. -
MulvaSo, am I the only one who thinks an 8 match ban for Luis Suarez is a little extreme for saying things like "I don't speak to blacks"?
I get that racism is a big issue with soccer in Europe, but that seems pretty comparatively tame to me. The FA putting together a 115 page report on the incident seems like a little bit of unnecessary overkill too. -

Is it overkill? Yes.Mulva;1037998 wrote:So, am I the only one who thinks an 8 match ban for Luis Suarez is a little extreme for saying things like "I don't speak to blacks"?

BUT, European soccer HAS to be applauded. They are pretty much the only organization in the world who actually take a stance and doll out punishment that will get the players to stop. Stupid fines and such are so lame. Bans might be over the top, for the amount they give, but they do make a stand about issues. Even the diving and "fights" get you huge bans. I actually love it, since I think it has really helped the game. -

Isn't that rule only if the player played in CCL?Laley23;1037943 wrote:I was thinking of this, and with the new CL rules about not being able to play if you have played for your current club is it worth it? Why not just wait till summer?

If so, Cahill is a MUST get for us. I also think they need to make a run at Modric again because they have NO creativity in the midfield. Torres will come back strong near the end of the year (I think) so forward should be fine. -

Yeah, only if they played in the CL, in any stage for their current squad. I guess I just assumed that a player worth buying was playing in the CL this season...but that really isnt always the case.ohiobucks1;1038034 wrote:Isn't that rule only if the player played in CCL?

OSHI am sure everyone has seen by now, Becks' deal at PSG is off and is likely to sign with the Galaxy again. I am happy about that.
-
ohiobucks1The MLS is getting to the point (next 5-10 years) where the Crew will continually be mid-level/bottom feeders (until they relocate!)

NilesPacManMan Utd loses again, this time to Newcastle by a score of 3-0.
In other EPL news, Timmy Howard scored a goal from 95 out due to swirling winds at Goodison in a losing effort. -
Laley23That Howard goal was awesome. Such a joke, yet so awesome. He was sad he scored it seems like, almost looked remorseful in the "celebration". He felt bad for the keeper on the other end.
In REALLY random news, Clint Dempsey has finally joined Twitter.
Oh and ManU sucks right now. Not that Im complaining -
OSHThe Crew just signed Chilean midfielder Milovan Mirosevic. We'll see if that helps.
-
OSHIt looks as if Costa Rican forward Osman Vargas has signed on with the Crew as well. They are also looking for a DP.
