gorocks99Yesss, got the W. Huge W. If we can get a point at Azteca we're in a GREAT position. And Mexico will suck.

2nd best news of the day? No Yellow Cards. Dempsey and Bradley will be playing in Mexico City. -

Getting WAY ahead of myself. But win in Mexico and they are gonna be really feeling the pressure.gorocks99;1412201 wrote:Yesss, got the W. Huge W. If we can get a point at Azteca we're in a GREAT position. And Mexico will suck.
But yeah, we gotta be thinking draw (which also puts a ton of pressure on Mehico). -
MulvaShirtless Dempsey exchanging snowball fire with the crowd. Gotta love Clint.

OSHShuts the critics up a bit. That was a nice effort by the USMNT. Defense played calm and composed. Guzan did his job, just one real critical error on the missed box on the corner kick.
USSF needs to make sure there are orange balls for these games next time. Yellow and snow don't go together! -
NilesPacManI know it was just a friendly with non-top squads, but I got to think last year's win at the Azteca is going to help us on Tuesday. Like many of you said, a point at Azteca would be absolute gravy. After that, it'd be super nice to collect 9 points from our 3 games in June (2 home games and a game at Jamaica).
Funny how one set of games completely changes the complexion of the Hex. After not looking too well for us after the Honduras loss, we're second now. I'll take it. -

Howard was huge in the win @ Azteca last year.NilesPacMan;1412350 wrote:I know it was just a friendly with non-top squads, but I got to think last year's win at the Azteca is going to help us on Tuesday. SportsAndLadyCan't wait for tonight!!

gorocks99I have a bad feeling about tonight, Mexico is going to be coming out guns blazing because if they lose they're sitting with 2 points, still having to travel to Jamaica, Panama, USA, and Costa Rica.
If 2010 and 2006 qualifying are any indication (where 16 points was the cutoff for qualification), they would need to get 14 points in their last 7 games to advance. It's not impossible, particularly given the Mexicans' talent, but with 4 of the 7 on the road it would be an uphill climb. It would mean they need at least one road win and no losses or ties at home.
The US, on the other hand, with a win would be looking at needing 9 points in their last 7 games (4 of which are in the US) which would be really shocking not to do. -
Classyposter58USA! USA! USA!

DeyDurkie5Would love to watch this if I start to feel better by tonight. It would be a HUGE victory to come away with, but as rocks said, not feeling too great about it.
