No idea but if he takes the job, the Browns offensive coordinator search (Mike Sherman) should be over shortly after.Midstate01;1062495 wrote:Never would I imagine chip Kelly as an nfl coach... Is he pulling the Pete Carroll?? Leave before NCAA hammers them? -
Midstate01What offense would be run?? Gimmick offenses don't work!!!
Good to hear about Sherman. -
chicago510Wants to reunite with LaGarrett Blount?

I jumped the gun. Wasn't aware that Sherman was BFF's with the Fins new HC, Philbin. Advantage Dolphins.Midstate01;1062510 wrote:

You think he will hire an OC? He had his hands all over the offense in GB sometimes its hard for those guys to give up playcalling.BR1986FB;1062526 wrote:I jumped the gun. Wasn't aware that Sherman was BFF's with the Fins new HC, Philbin. Advantage Dolphins. -
A PACHere come the sanctions for Oregon.

chicago510I know they should hire one, but their egos don't let them. Garrett, Shurmur, etc.

Hopefully miamis gm makes it clear. -
Midstate01So Kelly agrees to be tampas coach. Now he's not and staying at Oregon?? Wtf!!!
Phil knight must have given him some big money! -

From what I've heard, Shurmur wanted to find an OC but a) there was nobody available that they liked/wanted and b) Holmgren encouraged him (Shurmur) to call his own plays. Unless something goes drastically wrong, the Browns should have a play calling OC this year. If Philbin takes Sherman, I'm thinking it will now be Brad Childress. Childress was contractually obligated last year and couldn't accept the position.chicago510;1062543 wrote:I know they should hire one, but their egos don't let them. Garrett, Shurmur, etc. -
BR1986FBTony Dungy told Dan Patrick that he believes that Tressel will be the next HC of the Colts.
This could bode well for the Browns. If Tressel is the head coach I'm not so sure that Luck is a lock for the #1 pick. Tressel has had most of his success with running QB's (Troy Smith, Pryor). -

I just can't imagine having andrew luck be the starter for the browns..that's a pipedream of epic proportionsBR1986FB;1063026 wrote:Tony Dungy told Dan Patrick that he believes that Tressel will be the next HC of the Colts.

Good calls, I guess Kelly is a gluten for punishment. -

Dungy is obviously not their (Colts) GM/owner but he's one of the few who has said he'd take RG3 over Luck.DeyDurkie5;1063027 wrote:I just can't imagine having andrew luck be the starter for the browns..that's a pipedream of epic proportions -

I'm not saying your wrong or anything..just mearly commenting on the fact that it would absolutely blow my mind if we got andrew luck on the browns.BR1986FB;1063034 wrote:Dungy is obviously not their (Colts) GM/owner but he's one of the few who has said he'd take RG3 over Luck. -

I highly doubt the #1 draft pick is going to be Tressel's call if he is hired as the Head Coach. Jim Irsay is going to tell whatever Coach they hire who to use that pick on and he has said he wants Luck.BR1986FB;1063026 wrote:Tony Dungy told Dan Patrick that he believes that Tressel will be the next HC of the Colts.

Laley23Doesnt matter who the coach is, the Colts are taking Luck. Irsay has said s much. Hell he has even gone on to explain his firing of Polian with 98 and saying you just have to start over and then compared drafting Peyton to Luck as well.

SportsAndLadyLuck is a 100% lock to the Colts. Seriously? Tressel had running QBs in college so he is going to take rg3 w/ the Colts? And then the 2 teams in front of the Browns are going to pass on Luck--because, you know, the Colts might trade arguably the best QB of all-time to get Luck, but the Rams and Vikings won't part w/ Sam Bradford and Christian Ponder, respectively, to get Luck. And no one will trade up to #2 or #3 to grab Luck either.

To be fair, if the Colts DID pass (wont happen) the Browns have by far the most to offer in a trade with their 2 first rounders to the Rams.SportsAndLady;1063163 wrote:Luck is a 100% lock to the Colts. If you think that if Luck were to slide to #2 that the Browns wouldn't be pissing all over themselves to get up to #2, you're fooling yourself.SportsAndLady;1063163 wrote:Luck is a 100% lock to the Colts. It's not even that. That entire "scenario" has about a .00001% of happening.BR1986FB;1063175 wrote:If you think that if Luck were to slide to #2 that the Browns wouldn't be pissing all over themselves to get up to #2, you're fooling yourself. -
Mr Miyagi
not only the Browns but a handful of other teams as wellBR1986FB;1063175 wrote:If you think that if Luck were to slide to #2 that the Browns wouldn't be pissing all over themselves to get up to #2, you're fooling yourself.
