Nice to see bphill as the AS starter as of now. Is bruce gettin any love?
  • SportsAndLady
Last I saw of Bruce, he was like 9th on the ballot...but he should definitely be on the team, just may not get voted.

Reds have something brewing here in the 5th, hopefully they can put the Cubs away now.

    Votto draws a walk, 3-2

The Cubs manager looks like the bad guy from Anaconda
  • SportsAndLady
    Damnit Bruce
  • jordo212000
The Cubs are so bad haha
  • dave
I kinda feel bad for all the non bandwagon cubs fans, if there are any. $126mil and this is what they put out there.
  • jordo212000
I like Starlin Castro but he needs to move to 2B. He is a liability at SS

Cozart 3-5 tonight. Lets DL Edgar already. Janish still without an extra base hit in over a month.

DL? Ehh let's go ahead and designate him for assignment. Call up Cozart and use Janish as a utility guy off the bench

    wow!
  • SportsAndLady
Hahaha Miggy Cairo!! Give the man a curtain call, only his 34th career home run in 16 seasons haha

I'm ok with that, but might as well see what Cozart can do for a bit before getting rid of him. Also, I don't think they can DFA someone who's hurt, could be wrong on that though.

If he is still on the active roster and not on the DL, I think they are free to do what they choose.

Even if Cozart is bad, he can't be any worse than Janish and Renteria have been

Nice outing for EV, lets hope he finally has it figured out.

Got mixed feelings about this. Would be nice to get something for him, but don't really want to see him go to an NL contender.

And if Cozart IS bad, you're just going to have Janish. You're cool with that?

Look, we didn't get Renteria to hit .300 during the season. We got him for the playoffs, where very strangely he is very clutch. He's got 2 World Series game winning hits for christ sake lol.

Did not know this about Ramon

I would love that shirt. But $22 is a little too rich for my blood.

I don't care what he did in 1997 or what he did last year. I know that we need a starting SS and a guy who can come in and play good defense off of the bench. At this point Renteria can do neither. His range has been embarrassing this year

If we had Renteria last year, we wouldn't have gotten no hit against halladay, and we would have won game 2 in philly. That's where Renteria will become extremely valuable to this team.

Why do we need a good defensive SS off the bench?

If Cozart isn't going to play mote than he sits..he needs to stay down.

We don't really need extra base hits out of the #8 hitter

    Link?

There's no guarantee we even make the playoffs and we won't if we continue to get nothing from SS and LF.

Like I said, when you are a small market national league team you can't afford to keep guys on the bench who aren't versatile. Renteria's range has vanished and if he can't hit, what good is he? Cut bait and move on

Well haha you need an infielder who is good at something?

Agreed about Cozart though. If Dusty's plan consists of Chris Heiseying him, then keep him down on the farm

You need someone who has "been there" when you get to playoff times. Renteria would have won a WS for a team because of his hit, he would have straightened them out. They still don't beat Philly in the series, but they at least maintain their game 2 lead when they got to Oswalt early.
