Cleveland Indians vs Tampa bay rays series thread

Crimson streakThe tribe enter at 30-17 while Tampa enters at 26-23 after having their game today ppd. Hopefully the tribe can take 2 of 3 with Tomlin and masterson pitching in this series. Thoughts?
-
Laley23Gonna be another tough one. Second series in a row we get the top 3 pitchers for the opposition going. Game one is going to be huge. Tomlin versus Price could set the pace for the next 2 games. Its the most even match-up imo.
Tomlin - Price (even, though Price dominated the Tribe last time out)
Carrasco - Shields (Rays, CC is ehhh and Shields is a Cy Young frontrunner)
Masterson - Hellickson (Tribe, but Hellickson has been very good and can shut you down on a given night).
I think whoever wins Friday, wins the series 2-1. -
wes_mantoothIf price throws like last time, we are fucked...lol
-
wildcats20I thought the Tribe packed it in for the season after losing the last 2? I swear I saw that somewhere....

We will take Brantley to play left and Tomlin.
And you can have Volquez. -

Deal, but you have to throw in gomes -
wildcats20We need SOME comedy around the Reds still.

BRFBRF checking in. Good job, Crimson streak, for getting our ship righted again! I think the key to this thread's success will be you not using capitals for "bay-rays" in the title!
-
oberhausIm checking in to say I wont comment on this thread since the last series downfall was my doing.
Oh crap........oops -

Don't you have a Red's thread to post on?
And I agree with Laley. Game 1 is very important for the Tribe if they want to win this series. -
BR1986FBThese next two series are going to show if the Tribe has any sack or not.
-
grodtBig series in terms of seeing how this team responds to dropping those two to Boston. So far this year they've been remarkably resilient and I hope that continues. Plus I believe Grady is eligible to return during this series and they said since he's been working out with the team, taking BP and running he probably won't go on a rehab stint. He would be a welcome addition to a lineup that's been sputtering along lately.
Oh yes....Go Tribe! -
ScrawneyI'll be at a couple of these games, should be a good series.

What the hell are you talking about? You act like they've been choking games away left and right this year. -

This is the way I see it as well. Going against some more great pitching, hoping for 2-1 on this trip. Sizemore likely to return this weekend, so that's a plus. -
dazedconfusedwe definitely need grady to get back in there...especially with some of the lineups we've been trotting out. hell, i'd probably bat him fourth or fifth at this point
-
hoops23Need to take 2 of 3 against TB... If not, then a sweep of Toronto would be the only thing that salvages the trip.
Sweeping the Reds made losing 2 of 3 to the Sox tolerable.
30-17 and you do not want to go on any kind of long skid, so it's important to come out and take Game 1.
This team has the right attitude though, so I think they'll be fine. -

No, what I meant is between Cincy, Boston, Tampa, Toronto & Texas this stretch will be the toughest they've faced. They can weather the storm or they may come out of it with a very small lead in the division. They may have played some teams with winning records prior to this stretch but they haven't REALLY been tested by the "big boys" yet. -

They took 2 of 3 against us last time, they don't get the respect of capital letters haha. Plus I started it on my phone and it usually capitalizes it for me but didn't -
riders1Today in Indians history, 18 years ago, involving a former Tampa Bay player, then with the Rangers.

Good read. It's nice that this is Acta's "second chance." It seems like every coach/manager uses Cleveland as their first chance at coaching, then they fail, but they go on to succeed for another franchise. Hopefully we can get that "second chance" luck with Acta.
