    GO REDS !

Beat those fairy dust covered Featherheads!
  • Ironman92
My lineup (to win that is)

    1. Drew Stubbs CF
    2. Brandon Phillips 2B
    3. Joey Votto 1B
    4. Scott Rolen 3B
    5. Jay Bruce RF
    6. Ramon Hernandez C
    7. Chris Heisey LF
    8. Miguel Cairo DH
    9. Edgar Renteria

or if you want Janish for his defense......sub Renteria for Cairo and put Janish 9th

It figures the world would come to an end when the Indians are in 1st place!!!
  • Ironman92
Hanigan and Janish back to back at the bottom and Gomes just 2 spots later is not giving clutch a very good chance.

Who in my lineup do you not want up when it matters? Heisey maybe?.....maybe.....then who do you want to PH for Heisey if it matters?

    Lineups aren't that hard.

I prefer Phillips in the clean up spot to Rolen. In an ideal world, Phillips hits second, but to me Rolen just doesn't have enough pop to hit 4th. Plus I think you would begin to see people walking Votto a lot again

With the way he is producing lately, I would flip Bruce and Rolen and let Bruce hit clean up. Teams would be less likely to walk Votto to get to Bruce than if they had to face Rolen. And Bruce has woken up as of late.

The 45' running lane is only for use in judging if a runner interfered with the throw, and is irrelevant in judging if the runner exceeded 3' deviation in the line he was taking to the base in order to avoid the tag. The video is virtually a clone to what happened last night in the Reds/Indians game.

Yes. We have already discussed and agreed the runner has 3 feet on each side of the base path.

I really don't get it. I like Jonny Gomes, I don't have a problem with him. BUT he SUCKS right now. There is NO reason he should be in the lineup, NONE.

Why not throw Cairo in the DH, like someone posted, or Hernandez, or ME?!?

Agreed.. but if you must put him in the lineup, you should hit him no higher than 7th. There is zero reason why a guy below the Mendoza line who doesn't like to walk should be in that spot.

Heisey goes 1-4 and Dusty decides it is best to put him on ice. smh. If only he had the leash that Gomes has.

I'm OK with Lewis for Heisey. But yeah, Gomes needs to be out or dropped WAY, WAY down.

WOOHOO, glad to see Buck is healthy and can play. Carerra getting the start as well is nice to see so we dont have to pain through Austin Kearns in left.

I guess I can understand Lewis, but I hate when people go overboard with that righty lefty matchup stuff. At the end of the day give me the better player, I don't care if he hits right handed or left handed. The only time I would do the matchup stuff would be when you have a clear platoon situation

Dusty gave Corey Patterson over 500 plate appearances and he was dead last in baseball in OB % and he hit him leadoff.

That still boggles my mind. Same with Fast Wily
  • Ironman92
Gomes hitting .136 since April 16th.

If not for 170 year old rules Dusty would bat him 1st, 2nd, 5th and 7th to gain him some at bats to "get Jonny doing what we need him to"
  • Ironman92
Phillips has hit in 11 straight I believe.

Do you think it's more likely that Phillips get 30+ or Gomes gets to a 3 game hitting streak.

Vegas for now has it even.
  • wildcats20
    Sooooo

Gomes' first chance to record an out.
  • Ironman92
Stubbs rifles a shot to LF for a leadoff single.
