I thought it was the basepath the runner is to stay in on plays at 1st base. I've seen runners out for being inside on close plays but on a play like tonights where he went to the outside of the line to avoid Vott's tag, I thought he could have been called out. Any umpires have an interpretation? -

The runner has 3 feet to use in avoiding a tag. If he were more than 3 feet outside the base path he could have been ruled out. He clearly wasnt beyond the 3 feet though. -
