Astros at Reds, game1

  • mhs95_06
If the Reds want to spend the entire season at no worse than .500, they need to win tonight and several of the next 5, all day games.

What a bullshit 3rd strike call on heisey. That shit wasn't even close.
  • mhs95_06
I agree on the 3rd strike to Heisey. Same thing on Gomes wasn't it? However he didn't give the 3rd strike call to Leake on Wallace in the first that was over that same corner, but in that case was the inside corner.

    WOW....what a play by BP!!

A new one for Brandon Phillips, and bare hand behind the back throw to 1B on the charge of a slow hit ball! What was the advantage over a toss that was not behind the back? I submit there was because of his forward momentum which would make a forehand flip slower to the base.

It was between his legs at near full speed against a very fast runner... Maybe the best play I've ever seen him make.

Definitely one of BPs bests..maybe his best ever

That is two extremely dumb plays on the bases by Votto in the last week. Apparently Joey is a very poor judge of when he can make the next base. He also pulled up at 2n with a double with when out when he should have went to 3rd before that. Maybe his displeasure with himself on that play has led him to be too aggressive lately.

Lol votto caught stealing down 6. Also, the starting pitching has been beyond terrible this season. They better get their shit straight soon.
  • Ironman92
Votto is not a great baserunner.

This game sucks. Worst team in the NL with a bunch of no names kicking the Reds ass at GABP....awesome

Bailey, Dontrelle both pitching very well. Maybe time to send Wood, Leake down for a game or two and see if that jumpstarts. Also, Lehr should be ready by midseason. Lest we forget he was the best pitcher in AAA before TJ last spring.

All of these guys who had early success last year have been around the league a few times and it seems to be showing.

    Astros are taking BP.
  • Ironman92
    .....Jonny Gomes is not
  • se-alum
Looks like I'll get to watch The Voice tonight....
  • mhs95_06
BP's tag on Bourgeois' steal briefly knocked his foot off the base while he was off balance, but the ump wouldn't call him out!

Wow. Wasnt expecting 9-1 when I flipped this on. Man they have been giving up some runs early in games.
  • Midstate01
we flat out stink right now... and i have no clue what the answer is. Starting pitching has been horrible!!!

I see on the replay that he did throw that between his legs! Great, great play.
  • Ironman92
Damn...Stubbs bout made his best play ever....not quite though

I swear everytime I watch Gomes he either strike out or pops up the first pitch.

I have a sinking feeling the Redlegs are going to be a strong disappointment after last season and high hopes this offseason.
  • mhs95_06
How about that? Stubbs left his feet to try to snag Johnson's a drive into LCF, but to no avail. I don't recall ever seeing Stubbs leave his feet to try to make a catch.
  • mhs95_06
Votto too anxious on the first pitch in both the 5th and 7th innings, making the 3rd out both times with two on and two out.
  • Jughead
I'm sorry, but losing to teams such as Arizona, Houston, and Pittsburgh is simply unacceptable. I could understand having this kind of record playing the Braves and Phillies, but the Reds have yet to play them this year.
  • Midstate01
yeah its getting ridiculous, the idians have a terrible club and they are 20-8...... unacceptable!!
