He hit .220/.324/.370 in the leadoff spot last year and 268/.332/.452 from 7th. If you don't think there is a difference between hitting leadoff and 7th, you havent played a whole lot of baseball.

Right, but I'm saying a small sample size he played well, at the end of the season if I remember correctly. His poor numbers last year were due to experience (or lack thereof) and not being accustomed to major league pitching. I agree spots in the lineup make a difference, but in this case I think it would have been irrelevant what position he played, he still would have struggled.
