Indians vs Mariners Series Thread

CC had 6 K's too...nice to see him bounce back from his first start, like Carmona did. We just need another solid outing from Masterson who I think is the 2nd best pitcher in our rotation.

Anyone else think the addition of Orlando Cabrera was an underrated pick up?
I love O Cab. He is def a good pick up.
  • OQB
Orlando was a great pickup and good veteran player to add to this young team. He is a true professional and it shows.

Rick said a couple of games ago that Orlando could be the Vet needed to bring it all together in the clubhouse.

    Brantley: .333
    Santana: .346
    Hafner: .375
    O. Cabrera: .360
    Hannahan: .350

If these guys can continue to hit .300 we are in good shape.....add in Choo when he gets his bat going and Cabrera who is a solid hitter it could be a very fun year.
  • OQB
Everett is a solid player too...good glove and bat he's batting over .300 too.

Semi hot bitches to start the inning.

Man I love when the Indians play the Mariners.....one of my favorite Indians Memories was that comeback win against the Mariners in 2001. Man what a ballgame!

lol, you should check out the Albert Belle thread. I posted this.

"As much as I loved the Tribe in the 90s, my favorite memory (not counting playoff runs) has to be the 7-8-9 inning comeback versus the Mariners. That was amazing, and here is the Hamilton Audio for it. Watch it before opening day every year!

It was 2001, if anyone doesnt recall

The link is to the Hamilton audio. I play it each year before the opener.

^ thank you for posting that....I haven't been on the Belle thread for a few days.

What a classic game that was!

Was at this game. My dad was ready to leave and I talked him in to staying. Awesome game.

That was awesome. Nobody does it better than Hamilton

I could listen to Hammy's call of that game over and over. He's the best!

A lot of people dissed the acquistion of O. Cab....but it seems to be a great pick up early on. A lot of people also dissed sendind Lonnie Chisenhall back to the minors and keeping Hannahan (myself included).
I've bought some crow and have begun marinating for a possible mid summer dinner. J.Han looks like a player. But what of Lonnie if Hannahan turns out to be the real deal?....oh, what a nice problem to have.

Its going to be interesting. Right now Hannahan is taking advantage of the opportunity. I really like Lonnie though, the kid is going to be a good one.

I'm not sure if it was mentioned already but Pomeranz had a pretty impressive pro debut... 5.1 IP, 2 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, 9 K

And what do they do with Donald when he's ready? With Everette, there really isn't a place for him. There really isn't a place for him in columbus either.

Pomeranz is going to be fun to watch.

I actually was awake at the end of the game!

Hannahan will come back to earth. He is 31, and has a track record. Even if he has a career year, and keeps Lonnie down till September, you go with Chisenhall next year. Heck, Id trade Hannahan this year if we are out of it and he is still around .300. He is nowhere near this good, based on career track record.

Glad to see the Indians winning early on. They'll go as far as their pitching will take them though. Lineup is good and is very talented

yeah...probably. But lot's of credit has been given to hitting coach Jon Nunnaly for bringing his bat around. The key for J.Han will be adjustments to the way they will pitch him.

Can't the tribe trade for a couple more Cabreras? I think the Yanks have one and also the Tigers. 4 Cabreras in the infield...what a field day for baseball annmouncers.

Great offensive display last night and a solid job by CC to notch his first win. Hafner has definitely been looking like the Pronk of old so far this season. If he can keep up something close to this this lineup will be very very good.

Let's see if Masterson can follow up his strong first start with another one. He's one that we need to see more consistency from if we have any hope of contending this year or next.

As for the unis, I like the new road alts, but my favorites will always be the navy blue road unis. I like the home alts but I think the C on the red cap needs a white outline. The C tends to blend into the red and looks black at times.

Also, I like the C, but I don't like how it is phasing out chief wahoo.
