no not much movement. Looked like he was throwing all 4 seamers. Really only threw the slider twice I thought.

Tomorrow we likely see Francisco, Renteria and Hanigan and the lineup will still be capable of dominating offensively.

Too bad Fred Lewis is on the DL, great match-up for Myers and Stubbs could use a day off.

Heisey possibly playing 3 positions in 3 days??

I'm anxious to see what Freddie can do for this club. I was kind of excited when we landed him. For 1 year-900k, he seems like a steal judging by his numbers last year.

Yeah tomorrow would be ideal to play Heisey in CF. However, it would be perfect for Lewis to hit leadoff.

Heisey grounds into a DP with the sacks jacked. I guess we can't expect hits every time...

this team looks very dangerous. The NL central looks to be down this year. Milwaukee is probably our biggest competition

    That was janish

I've never been impressed with the effectiveness of Chapman's fastball. They keep talking about the fastest one ever recorded at 105. If I recall correctly, the 2nd fastest ever thrown was just a fraction slower, still at 105, but was hit for a game winning hit to CF. I don't see how he can be much of a starter, throwing so many pitches per inning and like they say a pitcher who really exerts on every pitch. Doesn't figure to throw many innings per start.

He isn't a great starter because he hasn't really learned to use his other pitches.

Then again, he's 23 years old. Learn to throw the slider more confidently and maybe develop one other average pitch and he can throw all night at 97-100 and dominate as a starter. He doesn't have to go all out and try to throw 100+ every pitch.

After Volquez's debacle of a first inning, Reds pitching has combined for a 3 hitter thru innings 2-9. Insane turnaround.

I don't consider Hanigan the back-up. I think Dusty will have Stubbs back in CF tomorrow, and Heisey back on the bench.

How much better did the attendance turn out to be tonight compared to last night's ~11,800?
  • charliehustle14
Franc was at 3rd I'm pretty sure.

So this is what I found on why LeCure is pitching tomorrow:

Apr 5 LeCure's first start will come on Thursday, April 7, rather than on April 9 as initially planned, the Cincinnati Enquirer reports. Recommendation: This move gives both Bronson Arroyo and Travis Wood an extra day of rest. Arroyo is still recovering from mono, and Wood wore down some in September, and the Reds want to prevent too much of an innings bounce for him this season.

I'd prefer to have Wood go tomorrow, then he'd be pitching in San Diego next week. He would get an extra day of rest before his 3rd start. Now, LeCure will be going in San Diego instead of vs Pittsburgh.

But wait a second......I thought Dusty Baker ruined arms by over-pitching guys?
