Indians vs. Red Sox Series Thread

I'm so excited just to think that we might be able to flirt with .500. I'm thinking around 72-90 though.

Eh, it's a little early... They looked like shit against CWS, and Boston is a mess right now. I want to wait a week or 2 and see how it shakes out before I firmly take a stance on whether they're average or shitty.

Also got to see how they do on the road....first trip out west of the season, let's see if they struggle tomorrow after a long plane ride to Washington.

Boston may be a mess right now, but we helped put em there.

Not really. My heart felt feeling was that we would suck..

But when I actually broke down the roster, we have a very good bullpen and a great offense. SP is a concern, which is why Masterson needs to take that next step and Tomlin and Albot need to stay consistent.

I have a feeling that the AL Central will be somewhat down this year, so it'll be up for grabs.

Too many people look at what happened last year or whatever and automatically assume that's how it'll be again.. That's not always the case though, particularly in baseball.

Exactly, Boston may be a mess, but we beat Beckett, Dice-K, and Lester...

And mess or not, they still count as W's which can only help the confidence of a young, but scrappy club like the Tribe.

I like your attitude hoops, either way its been a fun and much better than expected start of the season. I hope it continues as it will make following the tribe more fun this season.

    Oh yeah, almost forgot.

I think the biggest piece right now for the tribe is Orlando Cabrera. He has always been that's scrappy player who is always consistent. I love what he brings to this team. It was nice to see fausto get back to his former self yesterday. We need him to be that ace

Fausto's issues last season it seemed was his consistency between games. He would have good games followed by giving up 7 runs in 6 innings.

Don't understand the 'Boston is a mess" logic. They are not a mess. They are loaded.

0-6 is 0-6. lol bosox swept by the tribe lol.

A loaded team that can't hit or pitch thus far, they have looked pretty bad. I would call that a mess until they get their shit together.

They are indeed a mess right now, 7-44 with RISP for the season.

Here's a crazy stat, Indians are 2 games over .500 for first time since Sept. 22, 2008, and in first place in the AL Central for first time since May 17, 2008.

I'd agree with that. Starting pitching will be the make-or-break factor. You have young guys with limited MLB experience to date with Masterson, Talbot, Tomlin and Carrasco. If they can pitch with reasonable quality and consistency, it could be a pretty good year.

One thing to note is that the franchise has gradually gotten successful at higher levels from year to year. Two years ago, Akron won their AA league. Last year, Columbus won their AAA league. That doesn't mean Cleveland will win the Central this year, as AAA to MLB is a FAR bigger jump than AA to AAA, but it is reason for optimism, as you're gradually adding guys who have gotten accustomed to being part of a winning environment.

We would be 6-0 with Chisenhall. Just saying.
