Who do you side with in the NFL labor talks?

  Long enough for the players to run out of cash and come crawling back when they realize a 4.3 forty doesn't get them far in an economy where 1/10 people don't have a job.

  I'm on the players side. Mainly because j don't like Gooddell, but also because I feel as if they are trying to hide something. They have by far the best media deal, ratings out the butt, and the most fan interest in years and they want us to believe they are having hard financial times? Please.

  Goodell has little to do with this. It's between the owners and the players.
  
  The owners are not saying they are having hard financial times. I don't think any of them are pretending that they are not doing really well financially. They just want more.

  The thing in the NFL, of what makes it great for us fans, really irks some owners.
  
  Revenue sharing.
  
  Small market teams and other teams that fans do not care about and dont watch on TV get the same $$$ from media that the biggest draw teams. In MLB each team has its own deal to carry games along with the national contract and that is how they owners make hay. It was said that the Yankees can sell zero tickets and still turn a profit with their YES network deal.
  
  IN the last deal some of the small owners such as the bengals and bills were against the deal. Some big owners dont like to share $$ with the smaller teams.
  
  but in the end...they all realize it all is one entity.
  
  They say once the $$$$ is ironed out how to split then the rest will fall in place. The players will leverage the 18 game season with ALOT better healthcare. The previous union guy was seen as weak to the players on many aspects towards the owners.
  The NFL is in its heyday....and they WILL get something done....dont worry.

  Exactly what I am saying. I think if you asked any of the players they would all tell you unequivocally that Goodell does not represent them or their interests. Goodell is hired by the owners.

  Roger Goodell is a fucking dick, and his dick ways have rubbed off onto the owners. It's their fault, fuck Goodell.
  Also, whoever said the owners are Goodell's booses, not anymore... that power tripping fuck has reversed that for all intents and purposes. He's got those 32 owners strung up on marionettes. Goodell is calling the shots.
  
  Combine that with the fact that DeMaurice Smith isn't just going to be the Commissioner's bitch like Upshaw was after the last failed strike (on the players' end), and it could be a while.

  Most employees aren't getting 50% of the pie. If the players don't want to play for that, I'm sure there are hundreds of players who are. It's not like the players have another option that will even pay them a small fraction of what they make for playing football.

  The people asking for more money are the owners. They want $1 billion more out of the deal they have now.They say they're losing money. But if you were losing money and were asking for $1 billion back, wouldn't you slap some proof down on the table? The owners are more secretive with their books than KFC is with its recipe.

  I am on the FANS side! Ultimately fans are the ones who take it up the ass without the common courtesy of a reach-around!! The TV contracts are insane, which lead to higher ad rates, which we the consumer ultimately pay. Ticket prices are crazy as well. F both sides if you ask me!
