You are right, the NFL does not have as much PARODY as one might think. I don't think there is any other type of league that they are trying to mock in a humorous manner. There really isn't anything funny about the NFL actually, unless you count a drunk bernie kosar doing the play by play announcing for Browns preseason games.
There is however PARITY in the league. -
jordo212000KR1245;685882 wrote:I already commented on this.
I dont think having 6-8 of the top 10 players in the league on 2 or 3 different teams is good for the league. The league is already water downed, this will just make it worse imo
There isn't much of a market for Kings games as it is. Guys going to NY isn't going to have any effect on tepid fanbases. Megateams will only increase interest in the sport. My interest in the NBA has exploded over tthe past year. Looking at the ratings, it seems that others agree.
This is all moot though. There is no way to prevent free agents from playing where they want to play. They shouldn't have put NBA franchises in several of the markets that they did. The cities just aren't attractive -

Actually, info was released recently that Kosar's issues are more "post concussion" related (ala Muhammad Ali) than alcohol related. -
RotinajSQ_Crazies;685893 wrote:Disagree. The league needs to be cut down to about 16 teams TOPS anyways. It may not be good for teams like the Cavs, or the Portland Trailblazers, etc. But the NBA will still make more money when there are super teams like this. You can count on that. WAYYYYY more people want to see CP3, Melo and Amare in NY rather than all three of them in separate cities with a bunch of middle of the road guys around them.
16 teams TOPS?? Terrible idea IMO and how would that make them MORE money? You think casual fans of those teams contracted would just pick a new team that they have no previous allegiance too? I know if the Cavs were contracted i probably would watch a total of 5 regular season games and the last 2 rounds of the playoffs. -
SQ_CraziesNeato. Once again, someone speaking for themselves. I don't care what you would do. You also post on this OHIO themed message board. There are 300 million people in this country, what you would or wouldn't do matters very little.

And you know what the 300 million people would want? -

Great Post! Kinda ironic it made me laugh. -
RotinajLol, I was giving my opinion as a casual fan. Not saying that is how all fans would feel. No need to be a doucher.

Cowherd was actually just discussing this a little while ago. Saying that a lot of people ignore that the Colts, Steelers, Patriots have been dominating the league while the Bengals, Browns, and Lions have largely been awful. -

Cowherd is a jackass. Take a look at how many different teams had won a SB over the last 20 years and compare it to the number of teams that have won a NBA title. -
Commander of AwesomeCowheard is also a dumbass. He got pwned on his own show last summer when he couldn't even name jersey numbers for top players in the major leagues. Kind of pathetic for sports talk radio host who works at BSPN.

SQ_CraziesPeople talk about basketball like their used to be parity or something. Or like there were never "super teams"...um, learn your history and get back at me later.

Nice credible source you got there. You are talking about the same guy who said during his radio show that he has a reliable source that said Kobe has just been traded. GTFO. If you don't think the NFL has any parity, then you are completely blind. There is a reason why the Seahawks (7-9) knocked off the defending Super Bowl champs in the playoffs. Your parity argument for each league is pathetic, and normally desperate. Just give up. -

Nice to see you learned how to use "parity" this time, as oppose to "parody." -

Oh no! Someone typed the wrong word! How many times a day do you get off calling people out on that? I'm glad I have a girlfriend. -

LMAO at you playing off your stupidity by saying you "typed the wrong word." Sorry if you are not a dumbass (you don't fit that criteria fyi), you just don't accidentally type the wrong word. Don't get your panties in a bunch because you can't comprehend simple 9th grade english.
Also lol at bringing up your GF. Who said anything about GFs? I am glad you brought her up, it sure made your defense of your idiocy more legitimate /sarcasm.
(note, I know why you brought up the gf, it was a tie in to your fail joke about getting off, just find it funny because i know you used that to create an image of how you might possibly get some...)
Edit: Also, from my recollection you are the first person I called out for using the incorrect word. There are definitely some dumb posters here, but not that dumb. -
SQ_CraziesAre you done?

Might as well talk about your gamerscore on xbox live while you're at it. It has as much relevance to the discussion. lolfail. IPOTW, congrats. -
trep14I'm glad that the Melo drama is finally over and he is on the Knicks. Its sad because I think Melo genuinely did the right thing, essentially handing in his two week notice to the Nuggets, and the process had to get so ugly. I also wouldn't be so quick to praise the Knicks as the next NBA superteam. Amare's knees are already giving him problems, lets see how good that max contract looks a year or two from now. Also, the whole parity thing in the NBA is a joke. There never was parity in the NBA. It's always been a league dominated by superteams. Why do you think there was that conversation a few weeks back about how an all-time Lakers/Celtics team would fare against an all-time rest of the NBA team? And its not like this whole "players forcing themselves to bigger markets" thing is some new concept. Kobe was drafted by the Hornets but forced his way to the Lakers. Shaq left Orlando for LA at the height of his talents. The league has survived all this time and I think it will continue to do just fine.
