Browns Professional Football Championship Teams 8.. Pittsburgh 7

Well of course. Had we not moved, the Steelers/Browns rivalry would probably be just as good as it used to be.... Not to mention, it would have taken them longer to reclaim the win/loss battle.
But, that's how it goes. Idiot owners want to make idiot moves. I'm looking at you Art Modell. -

Ah, yeah, I forgot about the Texans.
I forgot they existed. -

This!!....And the game was played in Plhilly to boot. After that game, no one with a brain could claim that the 46, 47, 48, 49 Browns weren't better than the NFL champs of those years.Al Bundy;668010 wrote:No one is saying that they are NFL titles. They are pro football titles. When the AAFC merged a few of its franchises into the NFL, the first game they scheduled was the Browns against the two-time defending champion Eagles. The purpose was to embarass the Browns. The Browns blew out the Eagles 35-10, and they went on to win the NFL championship that year.
To the oh so bitter Steeler fans.......the Browns made it to the professional football title game their first 11 years in existence. I think your longest stretch was 2. Wow....Yup...in the annals of pro football history, the Browns' accomplishments soar above that of the Steelers. -

We'll have to agree to disagree. From what I've seen, the only fans who care about AAFC titles are ones who lack the NFL titles. I've conceded the Browns 4 NFL Championships but claiming the AAFC titles too is, well, reaching IMO.
Also, you have 7 pro football titles listed for Pittsburgh in your thread title. What, did they win the Sandlot Football League way back when and you're counting those too?
Just bump them back down to 6 since that's how many NFL Championships they have. No need to try inflate what a franchise has actually accomplished. -

Really? So Babe Ruth and Ty Cobb's resumes don't mean shit either? Dumbest post of the thread so far...but it's early yet.OrrvilleQB;667964 wrote:I am a Browns fan and this thread just needs closed....what happened 70 years ago doesn't really matter today. -
sleeperDo Steeler fans not recognize this was made in jest? Talk about insecurity, sheesh.

They need something to celebrate, don't they? Their team hasn't given them a reason to for a generation or so and now that football is over, they have what? The Cavs? LOL... -

This.
They sure can dish it, but surely can't take it. -

If you were in our position, you would understand. If you had to hang around with Steelers fan (you are a Browns fan, for this hypothetical) and see how obnoxious and in your face they are, you would totally root for them to lose. I mean throw in the rivalry and other details about browns/steelers, and you just naturally root against them. Why is this so outrageous to you? Why can't we be excited that we did not have to wake up this morning to 55 fbook notifications, 10 voicemails, and maybe even a hand written note that rubs the super bowl win in your face like they just won the lottery, walked up to a homeless guy, and shoved the check in his face? -

So then it would be understandable if OSU lost in the BCS title game if Notre Dame fans talked shit on here afterward? I mean, we'd get a free pass, right? Because my facebook would be just like you're saying except OSU fans would be doing all of that. Difference is, I don't come on here and do that after OSU loses in the big game or a big game because I don't like it when it's done to me. Now, that's not to say that I'm not happy that they lost....I'm just not gonna parade around on facebook and on here busting balls because, frankly, I don't have a leg to stand on in the ND-OSU argument. And the same can be said for Cleveland fans in the Steelers-Browns argument.SportsAndLady;668558 wrote:If you were in our position, you would understand. Just tell my you'd give ND fans a free pass in that case and say it was understandable and we can agree to disagree. Gotta be consistent though. -

I understand. It's all part of the game between fans. Like you said, if Pittsburgh wins, you'll have to see a lot of FB messages, etc. bragging them up in your face. Since they lost, I got to read a lot of FB messages laughing about it. If you got stuck having every Steeler fan you have any real or internet contact with rubbing another Super Bowl win in your face, you'd be looking for a chance to get jabs in about that (like the Modell special of being a pathetic idiot who lives through a sports team). Since the shoe's on the other foot, it's people like me getting our own jabs in. Just another chapter in a never-ending conflict between rival fanbases. -

Lol well for 1, I could give two shits what ND fans think. They want to give a little playful ribbing after an OSU lost, go ahead.
Secondly, just because you don't do all that shit, doesn't mean other Steelers fans don't. I'm sure you'd be a good "steelers friend" to have, but the fact remains you aren't the majority, you are the minority.
And lastly, to answer your question yes I'd give ND fans a free pass..they can say what they want lol you don't think I know that OSU fans can be terrible? I'm in your boat, I don't go around raping people about OSU's BCS wins or whatever it may be, but I also realize that a lot of OSU fans do that so I can see where I would have to take a little criticism after a win...just like you need to take a little criticism after the win...afterall, life does go on. -

Unless I missed something when I was gone I never took Heretic to be a bandwagon fan. Always thought he was a Steelers/Pirates fan unlike some of these frontrunning, punk ass losers here in NE Ohio who jump on the OSU/Steeler/Tribe/Cavs bandwagon when they are WINNING because they have LOSER existences and NEED that "winner" so they can feel some self worth. -

Exactly...it's not like this is anything new...your team wins, you celebrate. Your team loses, you take some heat. It's called being a fan of a sports team. It's not like we aren't friends anymore, it's not like i'm talking shit about your hot sister or pointing out your endless list of flaws...i'm just saying 'fuck the steelers' for one night lol -

Yeah vball is off on that one, heretic is probably the least bandwagon'd pittsburgh fan...why? cuz he still kinda gives a shit about the pirates haha -

Agreed, but not just because he admits to being a pirates fan.
