    Andy: 8.6 points/game, 7.6 rebounds/game, 1.1 rebounds/game.
    Shaq: 12 points/game, 6.7 rebounds/game, 1.1 assists/game
    Z: 12.9 points/game, 7.5 rebounds/game, 1 rebound/game
    James: 29.7 points/game, 7.3 rebounds/game, 8.6 assists/game.
    West: 8.8 points/game, 2.8 rebounds/game, 3.3 assists/game.

    That's about 72 points/game, about 32 rebounds/game, and so on.

Oh, and we're also missing Mo Williams as well.

That's not a hole in the roster, that's a cavern.

Those were Z's stats from two years back. Last year, he was 7.4/5.4. Was looking at that and like...I don't remember him being that good last year because he was behind Shaq and then "traded" for part of it and really never got into gear.

The cavs should draft the local guy, trade jamison to a contender, and just go forward. Build around andy, sul, maybe mo, and hickson. Then get the draft right the following next couple years. Draft is the only way, bc players won't go there.

Sullinger and Hickson both will probably play the 4. Move Hickson to the bench or the 3, or move Andy to the bench? I am assuming they would want their top pick starting. Maybe not from day 1, but eventually.

Unless you plan on bringing Sully or Hickson off the bench, that's a bad combo, IMO. Severely undersized, as both Sully and Hickson are only around 6'9, and neither are extremely athletic. A top 5 pick should not be coming off the bench, and if you move Hickson there, who knows what happens. He's already been very inconsistent, not sure what moving him to the bench would do to him. Don't get me wrong, i'm an OSU fan and love Sully, but he's just not ready to contribute in the NBA yet.

Mock draft has the top 5 being Sully, Derrick Williams, Perry Jones, Kyrie Irving, and Enes Kanter.

None of those players jump out to me. Honestly, i'd rather the Cavs trade for a player/more picks.

I would be shocked if Sully isn't back in Columbus next year.

I really like Irving. I think he'll be a player. I can't believe they don't have Jimmer in the top 5! I'm guessing he suffers from Peyton Hillis sydrome (meaning he doesn't fit a certain stereotype). Dude can flat out score.

Huh? Sully could easily be the top pick in the draft. There is no way he is back in C'bus next year. Especially if Ohio State wins the title.

Hsi father has been adamant that he will return next season, so its not as far fetched as it sounds.

    This.

Plus, Sully himself has said he plans on being in Columbus for a couple of years.

Honest to Jesus Jordo, I swear you're not a Buckeye fan...at all.
"You know, Aaron Craft was valedictorian at his high school!"

I can see that this will be the obligatory statement for every televised Buckeye game
Gotta love those commercials where they want $30 for two $2 bills because somebody splashed some color on the bills and they call them collector's items
Your only two posts in an in game thread against Purdue and you're talking about announcers and pretty fucking colors in what was a dominating performance by "Your Buckeyes". Now you question what Satch has said about Sully returning for his Sophomore year like someone just told you we landed on Uranus....

    faux fan...SMH

Go look at some of the other game threads. I couldn't watch all of that game. I'm more of a Buckeye football fan. I mean I watch the basketball games, but I rarely post to the extent that I do for football.

I realize that Sully's dad says he is coming back. That is probably because he feels like there will be a lockout. If they haven't come to an agreement by the deadline, then I think Sully could very easily return for his sophomore season. However, if they get this deal in place, I think Sully would be crazy not to go. Especially if he continues to play at this level. I mean he could be a top 3 pick!
  • jordo212000
Ok, looking back I had those two posts during the Purdue game, and then I didn't post for the Northwestern game. I didn't watch it live. Had it recorded and had other plans (it was a Saturday evening after all)

I had much more of a presence in previous game threads, but it appears as if we are deleting all threads that are more than a couple days old... for whatever reason

I really think Kyrie Irving has a chance to be another Chris Paul. The kid was the best team on Duke before he went down, if he wasnt injured he would be right there with Sully and Jimmer for player of the year. His injury does worry me though

If OSU would happen to win it all and Sullinger wins POY, I don't know what else he would have to stay in college for...He would be a dead lock as a top 3 pick and be making millions. There is always the chance of him returning and getting injured...I know he would still have another 2 years if that would happen, but if the 2 things I said happen this year then he is out of Columbus.

Yeah, I mean, I'm not the only person predicting he leaves early. Plenty of guys (and their dads) say they will be coming back to school, but saying it and doing it are two completely different things. Especially when the agents start reaching out to him

Exactly. Do you really take a guy like Irving in the top 5, even though he's only played 8 games so far in his college career? Same with Kanter, as he was ruled ineligible for the season at Kentucky. Then you have Sully, Williams, and Jones, none of which really stand out.

Irvings injury is unique, IMO, where you wouldn't think of it being a continuing issue. If it were a knee, maybe there is reason for concern. But I would worry about a toe injury.

As for Kanter, you can't hold it against him that he isn't able to play. His draft stock will be determined in individual workouts if he does decide to come out. Also, is he able to practice with the team? If he is, then I would imagine they are getting some film on him in practice.

Im not as worried about Irving having played only 8 games in college. It wasnt long ago when kids were getting drafted out of HS.
  • dave
I'm on board with Irving as well. Then go with a big guy like Keith Benson from Oakland, Markieff Morris, JaJuan Johnson in round 2. 2011-12 will be another lost year so I'd rather use that year to break in a top pg rather than waiting until 2012 draft. Of course the Cavs could end up with the 4th pick. Including Kanter there are 3 Euro big men, maybe they will try to find the next Z.
  • SportsAndLady
JaJuan Johnson in round 2 would be a steal, imo.
  • dave
He might go late 1st round, but I doubt all 3 of those will go in round 1. Too early to tell of course.
  • wildcats20
The Cavs recently have a bad draft history. This year they will wind up with a great position to make a pick, but who is to say they don't blow it again?

Look at their draft picks since LeBron.

    2004: Luke Jackson
2006: Shannon Brown, Boobie and Ejike Ugboaja
    2008: JJ Hickson
2009: Danny Green and Christian Eyenga

Only 1 of those players has panned out and that is Boobie.
