I'm not saying anything either way. Just figured I'd post a few notes.

A lot of those NFC opponents were chumps, easy victories.

The Packers are scary because they have a defense like the Jets, Ravens or Steelers but then a great offense, too.

I Can remember one season playing the NFC north when they were horrid. Went 3-1. NFC West is usually pretty poor. NFC south......occassinally a good team..i can see why they have a good record vs then NFC

They mentioned he used to be a regular customer at these places..and he would triple customers in 5 minutes of him showing up.

Looks like he learned his lesson

Here's my opinion. I think he's trying to change. But it's not that easy.

You can still see in interviews he has that arrogant side to him. A lot of smart ass answers. That's just the way some people are. Like I said, I think he's trying but it's tough to all of a sudden be somebody that you're not or you haven't been in awhile.

As far as the bar scene, it's just probably best that he stays away. It's not worth the trouble it could cause to his reputation as he's trying to restore it.

Their defense is not like the teams you mentioned, they're middle of the road at stopping the run.

True. Ravens have a better overall front seven, better at stopping the run. Packers have a better secondary, though.

IF the steelers can pull up this upset it will have to be done by their OL and running game. They need to keep that high powered offense off the field for GB. Their type of rythm passing attack is dependant on getting alot of snaps to stay in synch. If the steelers can keep the ball for longer chunks of time and force a few 3 and outs that can frustrate the pack offense.

Those drives do not need to always produce points...but they need to chew up clock to keep their O off the field.

Adam Schefter said the Steelers reporting Pouncey as "day to day":

Packers have been middle of the road against the run, but I've been encouraged by their play as of late in that regard. For the regular season they gave up 115 yards per game on the ground, and a 4.7 ypc average (18th in the league).

In their last eight games (including playoffs), they're sitting at 101 yards per game, a 4.5 ypc average (that would've been good for about 8th in the league in the regular season). And in their last five (following the loss to New England), they've given up 82 yards per game, for 4.1 ypc average. They're trending the right way.

This story will be beat to death about McCarthy being from Pittsburgh still a good read.

Still not a very good avg though...the lower numbers MAY be contributed to the packers being ahead most of the gamems and teams abandoning the runs as well. I dont know..i have not seen teh pack play this season. Numbers can only tell so much.

Outside of the Baltimore game (which wasn't all bad on the ground), the Steelers have been running the ball very well.........looks like something has to give next Sunday.

Id say that seems like an accurate assessment.

Yeah, both teams are trending the right way. Should make it interesting.

The Steelers have rushed for around 120 yards per game on the season, I believe, but in seven of the last nine games, excluding the Baltimore games, they've been around 145 yards per game on the ground. Those numbers are a little bit inflated because they played Buffalo and gained over 200 yards that game. But the bottom line is anything over 100 yards on the ground as a team, against a decent run defense, is a productive day running the ball. And the Steelers have gained over 100 yards in seven of their last nine games, including 147 and 166 against the Jets.

The Packers on the season were 18th in the NFL but as you pointed out, at the end of the season and in the playoffs it's been a lot better.

The Steelers want to run the ball. A lot of people think because they've become more of a passing team that their identity has changed but it's more because the running game has been so inconsistent that they've often had to spread it out and pass more. But if their opponent doesn't stop that first, they will keep running and then mix in the passing game and that's when the offense is clicking at its best.

Pitts is +2.5 right now and I expect +1 by game time. I'd hardly call this an upset were they to win!!

Hahaha, how true. Then again, in the NHL you can always make up another injury to cover up the real injury........for instance, take Malkin's sinus infection. Bylsma said that's why he didn't play the last two games and not because of a reported sore knee, lol!

    ^^ That's pretty sweet.

I'm in there but I don't have facebook.

I'm seated right next to a lady named Tracey Cauley.

Upper deck. Endzone. Last section before it breaks off.

Hines Ward posted on Twitter and Facebook a question to the fans.

What they think he should do after the Super Bowl? Retire or not?
  • UncleYoder
Packers by 9, take the over.

And that's all I've got to say about that.

According to PG+ (a pay section of the Post Gazette) Pouncey also has a broken bone in his ankle in addition to the high ankle sprain. The Steelers still haven't officially said he's out but this makes it HIGHLY unlikely he'll play.
