Super Bowl XLV: Pittsburgh Steelers vs Green Bay Packers

  • Thinthickbigred
Got my terrrible towel ready ..Now off to Dallas !!!!!!!!!
  • OQB
I know both teams are from "cold cities" and the teams don't care, but since the Super Bowl is suppose to be a "vacation" or at least in nice warm temperatures, does anyone else enjoy seeing everyone freezing their asses off in the cold crappy weather they are having down there?

    I think it's pretty funny.

I can't get too cocky this week, though. I know it's going to be a hell of a game.

    Awesome Super Bowl.

Two classic teams and a lot of great players on both sides of the ball.

Jeez, I can't wait. No focus at work this week. I'm nervous but I dunno why ... it should be a good, good game based on the teams involved.

Steelers media day was entertaining. Packers were boring.

Now it's basically a practice week for both teams, getting ready.

True. I felt the same for both of the Steelers playoff games.

I thought the Ravens and Jets were coming in hot and dangerous.

These teams, the Packers and Steelers, really do look like the most complete teams now that they're matched up against one another. Both with playmaking QBs and exotic defenses with MVP caliber players on that side of the ball.

Nice story from ESPN about Lombardi's house in Green Bay: http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/playoffs/2010/columns/story?id=6077292

New England had a great run but they won their last of three Super Bowls after the 2004 season.

Steelers are going for their third Super Bowl since then and seventh all-time. They would be the kings of the NFL.

The fact that the Steelers are playing in the Super Bowl for the 3rd time in 6 years is pretty amazing.

Nothing that the detractors say can change that. They have to trade in their team's colors for green and yellow this week after sporting green and white and purple and black last month. But that's what some resort to when their team can't get it done or isn't even in the hunt.

No question that most of the neutral audience will pull for Green Bay because they don't want to see Pittsburgh win again.

But I think even if you don't have a dog in the fight this is going to be a great Super Bowl to watch.

Speaking of, I know there are a few legit Packer fans (i.e., not just anti-Steeler fans) on here; where are you? What made you a Packer fan?

For me, my mom got me hooked. She grew up in Milwaukee and her mom was a season ticket holder when they split games between GB and Milwaukee (unfortunately she got rid of them). In the 90s when the Packers had a stock offering, my brother was lucky enough to get one share as a Christmas present, and I have since traveled to the shareholders meeting (it is a GREAT time).

I've been lucky enough to go to two games at Lambeau: 2002, vs Minnesota for a Sunday night game (Packers won 26-22) and 2006 vs Minnesota (Packers won 9-7).

Chad Ochocinco wants to fight Ray Lewis. He is in Dallas on the Dan Patrick show. He didn't go to his party last night because he said he wants to pop him for ripping his helmet off.
