Mike Vick says...
-
karen lotzHe would like to have a dog as a pet in the future. I think until his probation is over in 2012??? he is not able to do so. After his probation is up, do you think he should be able to own a dog as a family pet?
-
Hb31187After his probation is up if the law says he can own a pet. There is no reason he shoudlnt be able to
-
MulvaHis sentence includes a lifetime ban on owning a dog. It doesn't expire with his probation.
-
karen lotzI agree completely but his comments are being met with quite a bit of opposition.
-
I Wear PantsHypothetically could someone who lives with him own a dog?
-
Laley23He aint allowed to, ever. So point is moot.

I don't think that's true...

Vick served 18 months in prison after being convicted in 2007. A federal judge also sentenced him to three years probation, ending in May 2012. One of the terms: He could not own dogs during that time. -
september63Sometime in 2012 when probation is completed he may buy a dog. Legally, he couldnt be stopped from buying and/or selling dogs. He does NOT need anyones permission to do either one.

Interesting. Based on Vick's own comments I was under the impression that the judge had to "reinstate" him or whatever the proper word would be. -

Well, that could be. He could be "reinstated" (I don't know what the right word would be either) once his probation is over in 2012. I'm sure he has to go through some kind of process throughout his probation as well at the end of it to prove he has been properly rehabilitated at which point his probation would be lifted and he'd be "reinstated." -
Tiger2003No he should not be able to own a dog again, nobody should be able to own a pet who did something like this.
-
Laley23ESPN Radio reported today that Vick's judge said he couldnt ever own a dog again. If that isnt true, I dont know where they got their info from.
-
Hb31187Yeah, after hes reinstated after his probation or w/e(going by whats being posted in this thread), It really doesnt matter what any of us think. Because according to law he will be able to, and thats all that really matters.
Either way Idc really -
bigdaddy2003I think it would be alright.
-
gerb131No way no how no sir. Maybe have visitations to one but not own.
-
Be NiceThe "dog" on Family Guy would be the perfect one for him. It'll take none of his shit.
-
skankMaybe a hamster, but dog? No.
-
gerb131Or one of those lizards that the tail falls off of.
-
trep14Yes I think he should be allowed to own a dog.
-
lhslep134Don't care man, it's his life. If he is legally allowed to own one, let him.
-
Be NiceHe'd probably get one just to eat it. Do I need to explain?

Hes not Yao Ming. -
Ironman92He lost $100 million dollars for what he did to dogs........I'm guessing he's totally learned his lesson. He's been an upstanding citizen and the grand poobah of PETA is one of his biggest fans.
If he wants a dog...he should be able to own a dog.......what other way can he show closure to what he did and how he has redone his life? -
Laley23I question why this guy even wants a dog though???
He cant possibly be a dog guy or lover or whatever. You dont murder dogs if you are, so what would he want the responsibility of a dog for? Makes little to no sense.
