Cliff Lee WILL NOT Be a Yankee or a Ranger....Headed back to Philly

  • justincredible
The Phillies aren't a lock to win just yet. Injuries happen.

Outside of that, though, they'll probably win 110+ games.
  • Blanket
The rotation is being projected as #1 Halladay, #2 Hamels,#3 Lee and #4 Oswalt.

Injuries happened last year..and they were still 2 wins away.

I know in the grand scheme of things it might not matter, but everyone is talking about how at home Cliff and his wife felt in Philly. The same wife that had to endur slurs and insults in New York this past postseason. Think that might have had a little to do with this? Like I said, it probably doesn't matter, just something interesting to think about.

I'm really happy the Yankees didn't get their man. I won't root for the Phillies, but I certainly won't mind if they're the team to come out of the NL. There's no team in baseball better than them. Like Tiger said, injuries happened last year and they were still really close, and that was without Lee.

Cool. How many pitchers were injured?
  • SportsAndLady
Tiger shut the fuck up dude..every time someone says anything about the phillies there you come defending them...all the shit you say is so god damn dumb too

The only thing worse for this Mets fan than watching Lee go to the Yankees is watching Lee go to the Phillies .... ughhh.

Meanwhile, somewhere in Queens, new GM Sandy Alderson is combing the busboy circuit to find a starting second baseman and #3 and #4 starting pitchers.

Who did that projecting haha? Cole Hamels' dad?

I think it is obvious that Halladay will be the ace (Cy Young), Lee will be #2, and then either Oswalt or Hamels will settle in at #3. I'd put Oswalt there, but that's me.

The Braves lineup will be better than the Phillies this year. The pitching edge goes to the Phils obviously, but the Braves' arms won't be horrible. It actually should be a good NL East race unless Atlanta is ravaged with injuries like last year.

The whole team was healthy during the playoffs, not sure what injuries he is talking about. Clearly they choked and he is using regular season injuries as the excuse for post season failure.

The phillies now have the 2 best pitchers in baseball. SMH.

S&L continuing with his great contributions!!!!!!!

As for the move itself, lol at Jordo saying the system is just fine. Oh wait let me guess, here comes an NBA comparison.

ESPN. Ive seen it about 20 times today on the rolling bottom line.

ESPN isn't always right. Sometimes, they are barely right.

The rotation will be 1) Halladay 2) Lee 3) Hamels 4) Oswalt 5) Blanton

Or depending on how Manuel coaches, Hamels and Oswalt could flip to have a R/L/R/L alternating for the big four guys. But I don't know if Charlie manages that way.

I could see that but no way does Hamels start over Lee. That's funny the thought of that.

I really thought the Indians would outbid everyone for him...

Blanton will not be in the Phillies rotation in 2011. He will be dealt before the season begins.

Hey Reb, made me think of the '71 Baltimore Orioles.

    L Mike Cuellar 20-9 3.08
    R Pat Dobson 20-8 2.90
    R Jim Palmer 20-9 2.68
    L Dave McNally 21-5 2.89

Choke lol not so much. The Giants had a guy named Ross and he was hot one of the major reason why the Giants won the NL. I'm not using injuries as a excuse but even with all those injuries we still won the East and was 2 gays away from the WS!!!

And you must be a idiot if you think everyone was healthy. Remember the left side of the infield neither play was healthy.

I think you had plenty of gays on that team, but if you need a couple more to make you happy, so be it. :)

Hahaha...really what did I say so god damn dumb? That the Phillies had injuries all year and STILL finished the regular season with the Best Record in Baseball??

Yep we did get beat by the Giants or shall I say Mr. Ross

I still think with Sabathia and Hughes and if Pettitte comes back we're alright. AJ Burnett is certainly not going to have a year like he had last year, and there's a couple of youngsters down in the system that could make some noise in the Spring.

No chance. The Yanks big signing this off season will be Russell Martin. Really? Something is going on when they miss out on every big name free agent and its great.
