Although I don't agree with this, it's not as far fetched as some might think.
Just looking at stats, he's as impressive as anyone. However, he doesn't shoot a real high percentage and plays on a bad team.
Blake Griffin is putting up similar numbers, but no one would say he's among the elite PF's in the NBA (Gasol, Stoudemire, Bosh, Duncan, etc..) -

stoudemire & bosh...lol. Dirk & KG def has to be mentioned in this list and ahead of both Stoudemire and Bosh. If you're going to list them then you have mention David Lee as well, all 3 have similar games, except Lee shoots a higher %, and is a better rebounder. -

pretty much. That will be the same look he gives once they fail in the playoffs and Pippen throws him under the bus. -

lol, cant wait. -
Trueblue23Lamar Odom is playing damn good basketball tonight.

wildcats20There could be 3 Lakers in the West's starting lineup for the ASG. Which, BTW, is being playing at Staples. That would be pretty awesome if you ask me.
Also, the Mavs have now won 10 in a row and sit at 17-4. I'll be honest, I didn't think this team would be playing this type of basketball EVER this year. But hats off them. -
wildcats20Apparently some of the Wiz haven't learned that you NEVER wear white socks with black shoes. EVER.

But Idk about Odom. theres quite a few Forwards in the west better than Odom. Melo, Dirk and Durant off the top of my head -
Commander of AwesomeOn the Basketball Jones Podcast, they had a discussion about the least appreciated/covered story of the yr so far in the NBA. They feel that the 3 in Miami are obv getting a ton of Pub, I thought they had some good points. Dirks yr who should be in the MVP discussion, and Kevin Love's season also are what they focused on. What are some others?
-
thedynasty19981. Russell Westbrook establishing himself as a star in this league, and possibly OKC's most valuable player.
2. San Antonio Spurs have the best record in the NBA.
3. The future of Carmelo.
4. The play of Amare, he's having a really good season.
5. Play of Rose and Griffin (getting attention, but probably are deserving of more) -

Honestly, I would say the importance of the FIBA games this past summer.
LO, Westbrook, and Durant are all better players right now for the experiences they had this past summer. Odom is playing out of his mind. -

Add Kevin Love to that group. He didn't play much, but he has said repeatedly that he really learned a lot from his experiences on that team. When you spend that much time with other great players, you learn how they practice, how they study, how they prepare their bodies and even without the on the court experience he learned a lot, IMO. -
Hb31187Not trying to knock Odom @ all. But hes averaging 15 and 10. Hes having a good year, but not exactly putting up crazy numbers

Yea, he's just now living up to his potential. He has all the tools to be a very successful NBA player, but has always been too inconsistent. He does make the Lakers a much better team when he's playing at a high level though. -

Yeah I agree with that part,he def makes the Lakers a better team when hes playing well. I was more refering to it being mentioned in this thread he might be an ASG starter, and that hes playing out of his mind -

That was a ridiculous comment. Although are starters picked based upon fans votes? There have been some ridiculous starters before, but I don't think Odom has that big of a fan base to get a nod. Unless there are enough females out there obsessed with the Kardashians that submit their votes for him. -

15 and 10 in 35 minutes per game while shooting 42% from 3 (a career 31% shooter), averaging more than 5 points more per game than last year, and more rebounds.
I defend my statement he's playing out of his mind. Stats don't tell the whole story, you know that. -
Art ModellI dont give two shits about the NBA but after watching highlights on espn this morning the buildings look 75% empty.
