    1 out for Posey
  • Leonardo
Posey with a dribbler that Utley misplays but gets an out and the run scores
  • Tiger2003
Halladay gets the ground ball to end the inning and Utley fucks it up. Giants win they scored first.

Not really it's more about the umps! Been that way all series. The Giants have got every call while the Phillies have not got any.

The Phillies offense is doing a great job of laying of the Change up in the dirt. Runners at 1 and 3 for Howard with 1 out.

    crazy ass inning

Halladay bunts.....ball stays near plate seemingly foul.....catcher goes in front of the non-running Halladay, throws to 3rd....Pablo can't find bag and rolls around after missing it...gets up, double clutches and then throws out Halladay by over 20 ft???????? I timed it and Halladay had 6 seconds from th time the catcher got out of his way completely to make it to 1st before the throw....it was 8 seconds overall from the moment the ball was bunted until thte ball finally made it to 1st....and again, Halladay was over 20 ft away still....then the Phillies knock the cover off the ball

    3-1 Phillies

Neither pitcher will last much past the 6th...will Einstein pitch Oswalt again? I mean it's been over 20 hours since he last pitched.

Halladay threw 6 pitches that were outside the zone, off the plate outside, to the lead-off hitter in the first, and two were given to him as strikes by the ump!
  • Tiger2003
Huge inning for Halladay right there. To give him a 2 run lead I like the chances.
The crazy thing is if Panda touches 3rd before Raul got there we wouldnt be talking about this. But it's finally time the Phillies got a break.

First the wrong fair call is a break for the Giants as it should have been a double play, but the Panda's ineptitude turned it into the equivalent of a successful sacrifice and a break for the Phil's.
  • Tiger2003
Halladay gets through the shut down inning.

That is a tough play for a 3rd baseman who is charging then turning around go find 3rd Base while the catcher is throwing him the ball.

If Utley doesn't muff Posey's slow grounder it likely would have been a double play scoring the run! Utley was trying to quickly grab the ball to tag Sanchez, and then throw to first for the DP to end the inning. But Sanchez was too smart for that, and stopped in his tracks. When Utley bobbled it, it left him the possibility of getting only one runner out, Sanchez, who he chose to force out at 2nd rather than tag him, with Torres scoring the run from 3rd, and Posey safe at first. Now I would have liked to have seen Utley not bobble it, then with Sanchez stopped he could go tag him, but be too late with the throw to first with the run scoring also; or he could throw to first and then Sanchez would be hung up in between first and third and he be tagged out going into 2nd or in the hot box, either way the run would score. So I'm guessing that if Utley doesn't bobble, you'd have a rare first and third inning ending double play that results in the run scoring!

If Utley makes the play he would have been able to make the play. But who cares it's over.
    Phillies 3
    Giants 1

I think that was gonig to be a VERY difficult double play...the timing was not good between where Utley was charging and where the runner was gonig to be.....I think anything less than a tremendous play is just the out he got anyways.

Regardless......both teams will have numerous opportunities to take this game....gotta take advantage as much as you can.
  • Ironman92
Pat Burrell is painfully slow. He can't be but a step faster than Benji Molina.
  • Tiger2003
Cody Ross strikes again. A mistake by Halladay and Ross takes it's to right field for a double

    3-2
