No you wouldn't. They had already blown the ball dead well before that so it wouldn't matter who has it.bases_loaded;532081 wrote:Guy on red zone channel said it best. If they just watch the replay another 10 seconds you'll see who has it.
If someone fumbles the ball but it is ruled a dead ball and a defensive player picks it up and runs to the end zone you don't give the defense a touchdown if on the review the fumble actually was a fumble. -
NonAlso, the refs were calling touchdown so the players that were fighting for the ball let off after they called touchdown a bunch of times then the Miami player runs out of the pile with it.
That's not recovery. The ball is dead on the ground it's a question of who had it down there. You couldn't tell if it was 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 players at once. -

Good...if he is telling the truth then the right team won. I just hate when officials take away from the actual games. -
bases_loadedThe ruling on the field should've been fumble. Officials slow roll every other damn goal line dive. Why was this one such a kick call. Oh well Steelers won. But the call was blown and that lineman is a liar

well some one is lying . last nite big ben stated he recovered the fumble. the bottom line is the steelers got a gift on a bad call and the steeler fans are trying to justify it. -

And we'll take it. I can think of at least 10 times in the last 10 years that the Steelers got jobbed. And I'll take 5-1 also. -
Laley23Steelers/Steeler fans should take it. I dont think Ive heard many Steeler fans (if any) say it WASNT a bad call/luck. It was, but thats sports. It all evens out. Hopefully for Clevelands sake it is in the rematch this season.

Your post is bullshit. I don't care what the refs are saying...the rule is clear....if the play like this is overturned, then it doesn't matter what the refs say, or even if the whistle has blown. That's the way the rule reads...if the rule was different, then they would not ever review these types of calls.Non;532107 wrote:Also, the refs were calling touchdown so the players that were fighting for the ball let off after they called touchdown a bunch of times then the Miami player runs out of the pile with it.

Steeler fans are the most ignorant. They really are...and the most stupid too.
This is just another sorry, sorry chapter in the decades long debacle of referees handing games to Pittsburgh. Baltimore game 2 years ago? Anyone? Anyone? The Seattle super bowl anyone? Anyone? Or how about the 1979 AFC title game in Pittsbugh where Patorini hit his receiver for a game tying touchdown in the final minute (receiver clearly 2 feet in bounds) only to see the refs fuck OA "Bum" Phillips' Oilers team. -

lmao...pot meet kettle. You are the stupid one. When the whistle is blown PLAY IS DEAD. Whistle blown after TD signaled and no INDISPUTABLE evidence that says Miami got the ball. Original call was incorrect, but the replay was ruled correctly....END OF STORY.Footwedge;532356 wrote:Your post is bullshit. If you are that upset about it contact the league. In the mean time...do us a favor get your bitter, old ass off of Pittsburgh threads and go whine somewhere else. -

That is NOT how the rule reads. It was a shit call by a ref from little Washington PA....about a half hour drive from donton Pittsburgh. If it smells like shit, feels like shit and tastes like shit...then it's time to get out your tooth brush and start brushing.I Wear Pants;531345 wrote:Because the side judges view made it seem like a clear touchdown. Before they showed the replays from the goalpost viewpoint I was sure it was a touchdown with the fumble caused by the ground or at least after it broke the plane. That's what it looked like to the side judge, a clear touchdown. So he waves the play dead. You can't call the play dead and then look at a replay and say "oh, I was wrong" and then say "who picked the ball up after I called it dead? You, ok, your ball now."
Good officiating. -

I think most will say that the review was done correctly according to the rules. I think the issue is blowing the play dead and not uncovering the pile just to be sure. Some of the Steeler fans are taking this too personally like it is targeting your team....the problem is the rule its self. I think that anytime there is any doubt in any play....the officials should swallow their whistle just in case. -

I'm not taking anything personally. The only thing that irks me is the "conspiracy theorists".....that is bitch talk. -

Many people are targeting the team.
See: this thread and the comments on PFT.
Florio was actually extremely professional in his article. Which should tell the people who are hating on the team to back off -
wes_mantoothYeah, there are some definite haters on this thread, but if you sort through the bullshit(just like about every other thread in this forum), I think there is some legitimate discussion about how this was botched.

To footwedge:
Who gives a shit where the ref was from? These officials are held to high standards and the NFL isn't going to put some homer fuck out there to officiate games. You act like these refs don't have to answer to anyone. Shit, their performance is graded for each and every game they officiate. But just keep rocking that tin foil hat. Of course, there's always some conspiracy theory about how the league is trying to give the Steelers the game. Just like.....
Apologies from the NFL in back-to-back weeks...... http://www.thefreelibrary.com/Nfl+Once+again,+NFL+must+apologize+for+bad+call+on+Steelers-a065553706
Apology from the NFL for TWO missed holding calls on the same play that led to a Jags win in the Wild Card game...... http://nicepickcowher.com/2008/04/03/nfl-refs-admit-steelers-got-hosed/
How about Phil Luckett fucking up Bettis' call of the OT coin flip against the Lions on Thanksgiving day several years ago?
Joe Nedney's acting job (he admitted it after the game) that was called roughing the kicker by the ref on a play when he missed a field goal in the 2002 AFC Divisional playoff game. Nedney got to kick it again a play later and the Titans advanced following his make.
Too many men on the field called against the Steelers in 1995 against the Vikes when Cowher stuffed the picture in the refs pocket on the way in to the locker room as it proved the Steelers only had 11 players on the field.
Wait, did you really bring up the game against B-more from a couple years ago? The one where Santonio made the game-winning TD catch at the goal line? For crying out loud.....fucking NASA did a breakdown of that play using their equipment the following week on CBS' NFL pregame show and it revealed that the ball broke/touched the plane on that play and was correctly ruled. What the fuck else do you want?
Anyways, as far as yesterday goes.....bad rule, right ruling following the review. The Steelers were fortunate that the call was missed in the first place and stuff like that happens sometimes.....and it happens to all teams....contrary to popular belief. -
