Week 3: Cleveland Browns @ Baltimore Ravens

I agree with the above comments about needing a #1 WR

We are one of those teams unfotrunately so obsessed with draft picks (like many others) that we can't see the forest through the trees.

I looked at Anquan Boldin (3rd & 4th round pick) and Brandon Marshall (pair of 2nds) yesterday (soon to be Santonio had for a 4th) and realized that so many NFL teams are so stupid about their refusal to trade for proven #1 receivers instead opting to hold onto their draft picks that it boggles my mind.

With receiver being such a crap shoot position anymore, why more teams aren't gladly giving up picks for guys at least they know can play is perplexing.

I don't necessarily think he is a true #1, but Vincent Jackson can play in the NFL and is at worst a very solid #2. Holmgren should be trying to trade for a guy like that instead of wasting more second round picks on the Robiskie's and Momass's of the world hoping that it works out.

Even though Braylon couldn't catch a cold in his last year here he DID require attention which opened up things for MoMass. I think that VJ could do the same for MoMass & Cribbs. I'm not even bringing Robo into the equation because I'd rather see MoMass & Cribbs on the field than Robo. The only problem is that VJ can't catch fade patterns that are 10 yards out of bounds.

VJ worries me because he is a class A idiot. He had to be bailed out of jail the day of the last Chargers post season game, and had been suspended twice now by the NFL. He is one strike away from full year suspension, not worht the risk IMO. He is not the difference maker for us to make it to the playoffs/SB so who cares?

That was my first thought. Then I thought, they are down by 4, why not make it 6, take the safety on 4th down. Either on-side kick from there or kick it deep and Baltimore would not have the ball starting at mid-field.

If Mangini was a Stock...would you buy any shares? Or is he outta here even before the season ends?

In my opinion when you lose 3 close games that you were in postion to win, that falls back on the coaches. I think Mangini is gone!
