Anyone else think the Browns can win more than the Steelers?
-
lhslep134Call it completely unwarranted optimism but from attending training camp and reading articles and just from the new and improved ATTITUDE of the Browns, I just started thinking about the division, and I know we're behind the Ravens and Bengals, but I just feel like this is the year we do better than the Steelers.
Note: This is completely subjective lhslep talking here, not objective. -
GoChiefsMy heart says yes..my head says no. And considering my heart is wrong year after year after year..I'm gonna go with my head this time.

BR1986FBWill really depend on a couple of things:
a) will the Steelers keep their heads above water while Roethlisberger is out? If they can play .500 ball in those first four games they should be in good shape.
and
b) will the Browns defense and running game be able to keep them in low scoring, ground and pound type games? If we are talking 13-6 type games I like the Browns chances but if it's a 35-30 shootout, it ain't happening with the Browns offense.
Either way I think both teams are going to hover around .500 this year... perhaps a game on the plus or minus side of 8-8. -
RiderfanNot this year
-
thedynasty1998I don't think so. I do think they will be much improved this year, whether their record indicates it or not. They really seemed to get better week by week last year, so hopefully that carries over to this year.

LJif the Steelers can't keep polamalu on the field this year I think it is extremely possible

skankHope so, but I doubt it....not yet.
Gee, I wonder what Capone/Modell thinks. -
IliketurtlesCan they- Yes they can. They could go out and win more games than everyone.
Will they or do I think they will win more games than the Steelers, they may but I don't think they will they both might end up at 8-8 though I'm thinking one of them will be at 8-8 and the other at 7-9. -
Art ModellAnyone who thinks the Clowns will win more games than the Steelers is a complete MORON.
Steelers-11-5
Clowns-5-11

I'd agree with this, but add in Aaron Smith to the "need to be healthy" part. Polamalu makes their secondary work. The way Smith stuffs the run give the LBs more freedom. Losing either of them is a huge blow to the defense. Losing both...well, that happened last year and is why the team didn't make the playoffs and, I believe is playing a huge role in the way it seems so many people are feeling like the team is faltering and that the Browns could be better. -
Commander of AwesomeI think the AFC north is tough to predict this year. My guess is that the Ravens will win the divison, hard to get a read on the bengals, I could easily see Benson going down with an injury or not producing, and with all the close wins they had last season, remind me of the 2007 Browns. Thus I think a 2008 Browns season is very possible for the Bengals. The Steelers I dont think will be in contention as well. The steelers shitty oline and Ben being out for 4 (doubt it will be the full 6 games) makes them have a tough road to climb. I could see it, especially with the turnover at WR, losing their LT, Troy and Arron Smith being out etc...

Pretty ironic that you would use the word moron when talking about ANYONE else. -

come on now capone, you are the one changing names to hide from me...deydurkie still lives
as for the question at hand, Browns will finish second in the AFC north behind the ravens...and you can take that to the bank -

By the way, why DID he change user names? -

i actually think he couldn't figure out how to switch the names when the site changed, and he just made a new one...a perfect name for him though haha -

WINNER! -

I don't know that I'd go that far. Only a partial winner as it didn't negatively comment on Capone's intelligence. The addition of that makes it a pure-ass winner. -

I thought the fact that Capone was a retard was a gimme? I wasn't aware that it had to be stated...I thought we all already knew that. -
HereticIt should be stated just because of how doing so is a great way to release endorphins to provide a pleasant, happy feeling.

BR1986FBI know why he changed the user name. It's just people pointing out that he was repeatedly dropped on his head as a youth and was the result of a Mason Jar conception (versus a test tube) just never gets old.

BRFI just don't see this happening. (The Browns winning more than the Steelers, that is)
-
NonBrowns will have one of their best seasons in awhile.
But I think some may be confusing that with being a reversal where the Browns are up and the Steelers are down.
The Steelers will still be in the wild card hunt, at least. -

essentially what I was saying was capone is a dumbass -
killer_ewokOf course we all have our biases in regards to this. That being said, I *think* the Browns are headed in the right direction but I don't see them winning more games than the Steelers this season. I just don't think they're there yet. The Steelers, IF they can remain healthy, and as BR1986fb said.....go at least .500 without Ben.....should be in the hunt for a Wild Card berth and quite possibly the division as well. But the NFL is a crazy league and you just never know what's going to happen when it comes to injuries, etc. The Ravens have already been bitten pretty hard by the injury bug. Cincy was a pretty good ball club too but I don't think it's a given they'll repeat last year's success.
The AFC North should be interesting in 2010.
