lol r u serious dude? Not many people are in a position to question DJ's ball striking and sure as hell not u or anybody on this forum. You supposedly play golf frequently and still make a comment like this? lol come one.. i'd expect better from you.

Absolutely I'm serious. The terrible drive was a choke job. The ball wasn't 10 yards off the fairway. It wasn't 20 yards off the fairway.

It was 50 yards out 20 people deep into the crowd. That's a terrible golf shot for a PGA player.

For someone of our caliber, on the 18th hole with a 1 stroke lead? Yes, it's understandable.

But you didn't see Watson or Kaymer go 50 yards wide on 18 with the PGA Championship on the line, did you? No.

I don't understand the problem here. Did the PGA fuck up in not making it a waste bunker? Yes. But DJ is 100% at fault for being completely ignorant to the rules, especially with a rules official in his group. It would have taken about 3 seconds to ask if he was in a bunker or not.

Honestly, I don't see how he could see that his ball was in the sand and not at least ask the official. Stupid Stupid Stupid

It's not hard to push a drive 50 yards right with the power DJ has and the timing required to pull his unorthodox swing off. His swing isn't suited for nerves.

What would it matter if it was 200 yards off line? If it's in bounds, it's incumbent on the tour to keep control of the golf course and clearly that was not happening when there are hundreds of people trampling down bunkers.

You're asking this rhetorically right? You can't possibly ask that question without knowing the answer right?

I'll answer that question with another one. Are you going to pay for a PGA Tour ticket when the closest you can get is 200 yards away?

I don't think you understand any of the conversation going on in this thread.

If that's your best contribution, then I highly doubt you're capable of intelligent thought.

In fact, considering every single one of your posts contains you calling someone an unnecessary name or insult, my doubt is confirmed.

That guy in that situation with all those tour officials around needs to ask the question. If they are posting things in the locker room and having special meetings for it, the question needs to at least be asked..."Is this a bunker?"
  • lhslep134

If you look, there's nowhere for spectators to stand without being on top of the bunkers on the right side.

So unless you want spectators 200 yards away, which NO ONE will pay for, at some point on that hole spectators were going to be in bunkers.

That's not the PGA's fault, that's a fault in the layout of the course. I'm sure by 2015 those bunkers where fans stand will be filled in.

I did see Watson hit it 40 yds short in the water on 18 to lose the PGA Championship does that count?

K we'll call it even...you don't know waht you're talking about regarding players staying for senior years or going to the league and also MLB (more specifically, saying a team 1 game behind 1st place with 2 months left in the season is out of playoff race...lol god u suck) and I can say I don't know much about golf.......k, awesome. glad we settled that.

Ian Poulter tweeted later yesterday that he never saw anything posted in the locker room. But also that he wasn't looking for anything either. So if they had something posted it wasn't obvious to everyone.

When did I say the Reds were out of it?

I said that I thought the Cardinals were better, and that at the end of the day I think the Cardinals will win the division.

The fact that you transposed that to mean I said the Reds don't have a chance is hilariously stupid. It really is comical.

And I've already admitted the fault of the Thaddeus thread. You bring it up like I am somehow ashamed of it, or it's supposed to make me feel stupid, but in fact it's you who is stupid for bringing it up considering I've never once tried to not take blame for it or deny the mistake.

Do you honestly have anything positive going for you in that brain of yours?

Absolutely. That shot as well as DJ's drive on 18 cost both of them the tournament. My point was neither of them choked on their drive.

Don't see what point you're trying to make.

No calling Ian a liar, but I don't think the PGA would send their rules official on national television to announce a lie. Especially something that simple to prove.

Lol you just spin shit around in your head to cover up your retardation. You saying all that shit about the Cardinals means the Reds aren't going to win the division..and you said that after the sweep...then the Reds sweep the Marlins and the Cards lose 2 out of 3 at home to the lowly Cubs. Now the Reds are back in first...so let me guess, you think the Reds are now going to win the division? Because that is how your logic works!

And yes I have some positive things going for me...Just got offered 2 separate jobs here at school, won 80 bucks last night in poker, and I woke up to a blowjob this morning. Meanwhile, you're probably planning your law school applications, which you will promptly attend for 2 and a half months, quit, and suck dick for either a) money or b) coke.

Either way...Thaddeus Gibson is still in the NFL, the Reds are still in first, and you still suck.

SportsAndLady;453096 wrote:Lol you just spin shit around in your head to cover up your retardation.

    What retardation?

And yes, I still think the Cardinals are going to win the division. You saying the Reds are going to based simply on the fact they just swept while STL lost 2 of 3 is the same exact flawed logic you're (falsely) accusing me of using.

Why do I think the Cardinals are going to win the division? Better pitching than the Reds, and they've had better hitting since the All-Star break than the Reds.

You can't refute either of those 2 facts. They are FACTS.

Congratulations on your blowjob. I also got one this morning so I guess we're even on that count.

I'm not using that logic..I've been saying all year the Reds are going to win the division, and even when they lost to the Cards I was still saying they are going to win the division....you just hopped out of nowhere when the Reds got swept to say they will not win the division...so obviously you were basing it off that sweep...there's the flaw.

Steve Elkington is on Rome right now. Said it was clearly defined by the PGA...if its not grass and it is sand its a bunker. Said it was posted on the rules sheet and all over the locker room. Elk is a big DJ fan for what its worth.

I didn't hop out of nowhere, I just watched from a distance the Reds threads before finally commenting on them.

My reasoning for doing it then? The Cardinals (who I think are going to win) had just swept the Reds (who are still a very talented team), in a battle of the top 2 teams in the division.

I wasn't basing any of my opinions on what had just happened in a 3 game series but rather what had been transpiring up until that point since the ASB.

Playing baseball up until college I'm quite aware that taking anything away from a 3 game series in a 162 game season is naive and ignorant, 2 things I try not to be when discussing sports.

    Hope that clears things up.

For the record, I will have no problem if the Reds win. I actually grew up rooting for Indians and Reds because I love baseball so much and saw Ohio having 2 teams as an awesome thing and not as a rivalry thing. It's just my opinion I think the Cardinals are better.

And if the Reds do win? I'll be much more excited for the postseason than if the Cardinals do, trust me.

i don't have a problem with them ruling it the way they did, but you just can't have people standing bunkers in a major championship

I feel bad for DJ, but at this point it's clear that he was in violation of a clearly stated rule! Was the PGA and Whistling Straits right in how they were handling the crowd and bunkers, absolutely not!! It's ridiculous that they would allow people to stand or walk in the "bunkers". I just hope we see alot more matches w/ DJ, McIlroy, and Watson playing well. These guys are the future of golf, and fun to watch! I think Rory is going to win ALOT of majors!
