Reds vs Cardinals....Game 1 Biggest Series of the Century for the Reds
-
slcoachWhy get all pissed off about sending Wood down? It is a great move. You need every player you can right now with BP hurting and this a big series. Wood wasn't going to start in the next 10 days so they sent him down to keep him in his regular spot as far as rest goes. He'll make 1 start at Louisville and be back up to start on regular rest for the big club in 10 days. I think this is very smart.

I agree with you. Not a dumb move at all he is isnt going to pitch in the next fews games, so why not leave all the position players up there right now, never know when someone is going to get hurt, or something. This is a very good move by the Reds, because he will be back up to make his start. -
wildcats20Anyone else not being blacked out on ESPN??
-
wildcats20Nix with a really nice play on the first pitch of the game.

I'm not. Wonder why. -
wildcats20Not sold out?? Or does that even matter with MLB??
Leake looked really good in the top half. -
Ironman92So Wood isn't going to pitch in Cincy but is going to make a start in the minors...I hope I'm reading thsi incorrectly.
-
gerb131On ESPN here in Lancaster but I will watch on FSN
-
mhs95_06Janish with a great play to get the 4-6-3 DP, after a lead-off hit in the 2nd, handling well a mis-timed toss from BP and an out-of-the baseline slide by Holliday, and getting the fleet Rasmus at first.

I watched the 1st inning on ESPN to see if they would talk up the Reds or basically say it's because the Cards aren't playing "great." Answer: they talked up the Reds pretty good. -

I will give ESPN an inning or two as well. Just don't like Tony Gwynns voice. -

Tony isn't doing the game
It's Dan Schulman, Aaron Boone, and Nomar -
gerb131Ooops sorry Tony than it must be Boone he sounds like Gwynn its all drivel.
-
mhs95_06I really like the 4 starting pitchers on the 25 man roster for the next ten days when a 5th starter isn't needed. That means they can have an all left-handed hitting outfieeld vs. righties, and an all right-handed outfield against lefties, like tomorrow night. And plenty of double switch moves available in the late innings.
-
mhs95_06Holliday smartly beats the shift to plate the first run.
-
JugheadThis is going to get ugly quick. Cards are finding the holes with ease.
-
justincredibleUgh. This sucks.
-
wildcats20Holy shit
-
JugheadThere was a common theme there, all of them are fucking sinkers. Throw your heat Leake...ah fuck that, he's done.
-
osu45804Go ahead and start the game 2 thread now
-
RotinajAwesome. Game over.
-
JugheadMan. For as long as Nomar played the game, he doesn't know shit..."people have been hitting his fastballs recently." Every single one of those hits were on breaking balls.
-
karen lotzDamn Leake was cruising, couple seeing eye singles and the flood gates open.
-
JugheadShameful performance....
Who was the third wheel on the rotation for the last few weeks? Yeah, Mr. Leake. That'd be you. -
JugheadUmm...he's out, isn't he? Hand came up didn't it?
