Brett Favre informs Vikings that He will Retire.....No so fast my friend.

  • Lovejoy1984
    Breaking news on ESPN.

Just reported his ankle isn't healing like he thought.

They are acting as if someone died. I guess they are very distraught they will have nothing to discuss next summer.

He's still got a month before the season starts....I'll believe it when I see it. I think he will play this year. Maybe he's deciding skipping camp isn't enough and doesn't want to play the full 16. Heck, MIN could have a magical injury to whomever is the QB in week 6 and Favre comes riding into the rescue.

    I don't believe it

    Here we go again.......

Why should we buy into this?
  • thedynasty1998
I hate to even comment on this, because I won't believe it until opening day, but this would be really surprising if he doesn't give it one more go.

I'll believe it after game 8. Favre is the biggest diva in sports. Him announcing his retirement is becoming as routine as brushing your teeth.

I wish someone would just shoot him in the head so that we don't have to go through this every summer.

I think Lebron James might disagree with you...

No, Lebron's egotistical, but he's not a diva.

Agreed. He HAS to play after the season he had.

Are you kidding? LeBron is no where near Favre level. He's working on it, but still has a lot of work to do to get there.

He wants to play clearly, but if his body is not responding then I am not quite sure what he can do about it. If his ankle isn't healing, he would be a sitting duck back there and that won't work for anyone.

    2. Shame on Favre for handcuffing the Vikings if this is true. Now they are only a few weeks from the season and now have to go with Sage Rosenfels or Tavaris Jackson as quarterback on an otherwise stacked team. Maybe if princess Brett could make up his mind a little sooner, they may have been able to get a competent QB in FA/draft. Looks like the Vikings now become a power running team with AP and Gerhart.

    3. It would be surprising to see Favre ending his career the way it did.

He was planning on coming back. You don't have the ankle surgery he had if you weren't planning on it.

How was he supposed to know his ankle wouldn't respond to the rehab if that is what the problem is right now?

He's retiring from the NFL so he can join the Miami Heat

Oh Damn! I'm going to have to hear about this all day. No matter what sports channel I turn to, they are talking about this. smh.

You realize the remote goes beyond the sports stations, right? Turn it off.

As a Viks fan, I would like to see Favre back of course, but we can choke a big game away w/ anyone at QB.

I'd rather have ESPNLEBRON. Even though he's an egotistical douche, he's not a diva. And I HATE divas.

lol funny you said that, because as of right now I'm re-watching "The Decision" saved on my DVR lol.

Thank god. I respect Favre as a player but his drama about retiring is annoying.

This. He's taking his talents to South Beach.

Bron isn't a diva? Divas have 1 hour specials on where they are playing next year. I would say Bron is the definition of the word diva when it comes to athletes.

Childress says he needs to "hear it from the horses mouth." Supposedly Favre has texted a bunch of Vikings but hasn't contacted the Head Coach yet. I hope he waits until the final week of the preseason and decides to come back. I couldn't care less about the drama (that ESPN loves). I want to see him play because of the way he plays, like a little kid playing for the first time.
