Jordan rips LeBron at Lake Tahoe

Said that he wouldn't have called up Larry and Magic and asked to play with them, he wanted to beat them.

    Thoughts?

I agree...that is why he went from being in the conversation as POTENTIALLY the greatest to more of the Scottie Pippen type. He damaged his legacy with this whole fiasco.

    Agreed.

I know myself and many others have stated this repeatedly. He no longer has a shot of being the GOAT. He could be one of the better players of all time. But he ruined his own legacy with this move.

I didn't know Jordan was that way, "asked to play with them"? "Wanted to beat them"? Seriously though, I agree, looks like LBJ took the old saying, "If ya can't beat em, join em", seriously.

Agreed. I really dont understand how people can argue that this wont damage his reputation. Bron wanted to be compared to the greatest of all time. That wont happen anymore

    MJ is a Cleveland fan?

I don't think that's the point. I personally lost a lot of respect for LBJ, but being a Cleveland homer, it's hard to know whether my opinions of him are tainted by that. It seems certain that it's just not Cleveland fans that feel that way.

There was no link it was an interview he did during the broadcast of the Celebrity Golf Tournament.

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is often brought up in the "GOAT" conversation and so is Magic Johnson....and they played on the same team. Will it effect his legacy, yes absolutely. If they have a dynasty of 7-8 championships, I don't think it will matter though to be honest with you. The Lakers and the Celtics assembled awesome teams via trades and drafts, but they were still fucking stacked. The Heat just did it via free agency.

That said, fuck LeBron James I hope they never win a championship.

Look back at history how many one man show champions are there in comparison to teams built with 2+ stars

Also, what happens if Lebron leads this Heat team in scoring and is the league MVP? Will he still be tainted? Please.

    Simple answer......yes

His days of winning MVP's are probably over for a while. NBA writers are notorious for holding a player's surrounding cast against them when deciding on the MVP.

Lebron benefited from that in Cleveland as the perception was he was carrying them on his back.

Look for Kevin Durant to be the new poster boy for MVP voters of the player doing the most with the least. If the MVP award went strictly to best player, Jordan would have won it like 12 straight years and that didn't happen as it became old news to give him the award.

On another note, Jordan basically punking Lebron the same way many of the games greats have for "asking to play on someone else's team because you couldn't beat them" has to piss off Lebron and those in his camp. When the GOAT implies you've got no heart, people listen.

Nike will probably tell Jordan to refrain from any more such comments as they have alot of money invested in Lebron and can't afford for him to look like a chump.

Did he tell you that? I thought he said he wants to be on a team that can win multiple championships.

Actually, I am pretty sure that he has stated numerous times that he wants to be the greatest of all time. That should be a goal, so I don't think there is anything wrong with saying that.

He won't win the MVP when he isn't even the leader of his team. It is Wade's team.

Actually, he did say that. He also said "He doesn't want to go ring-chasing, he wants to build a champion in Cleveland"...

If LeBron's playing for the Heat, then that will more than likely hurt Cleveland's chance at a title, won't it?

Not if the Koufas and Sessions rumors are true
