Reds at Cubs game 1

  • dave
    Game time is 2:20

    Phillips
    Cabrera
    Votto
    Rolen
    Gomes
    Bruce
    Stubbs
    Miller
    Wood

Good move IMO having Corky in there with Wood.

Smart for the pitching aspect but Hernandez has been hitting pretty well....but even Corky has been hitting the ball hard most of the time but his average doesn't show it.

Phillips and Cabrera have to get on base at least 4 times combined and Votto-Stubbs needs 4+ RBI combined

We need Jonny to get back on track!!

I wish I wasn't stuck at work. I really want to see Wood pitch.

Yeah give me Hernandez's bat in the lineup. I understand why Dusty has Corky in there though. Hanigan can't come back soon enough

I love Jonny but it seems like is regressing to a number some what closer to his career average. I don't think he'll hit .246 (his career average) this year, but I also think it was unrealistic to expect him to continue to hit at a .290+ clip

Hopefully Wood returns the favor of Jeff Pico in about 1989. The young guy the Cubs brought up threw a complete game 4 hit shutout....and hopefully Wood goes on to a more successful career as Pico hardly stayed in the big leagues for just a few years.

Gomes needs to take a ball or two to RF or RCF....he's over-swinging (even for him)....pulling his head badly

He's a touch anxious. lol......maybe if he doesn't figure that out one of the Cubs loser pitchers can just give him some mistakes to kill onto Waveland.

only about 15 more minutes to bet some vcash on this one......I have the Cubs favored...any takers on my sillyness?

Corky is 5 for 18 since he got his first hit, almost a .300 average. Obviously he won't keep that up but it's been a nice surprise.

Votto single, Rolen triple. 1-0 Redlegs

Votto & Rolen connection strikes again.. Reds up 1-0
  • Ironman92
lol....I put 500/1 odds that Rolen would hit a HR a triple and record an error....and he leads off with a triple...no freaking way

That being said...if that ball didn't go out I'm not sure many will be hit today.

I thought that one was gone ...

Keep it going Reds. This is another one of those games that needs to be put in the win column. We need a good start on this road trip.

That 500/1 shot looks pretty good now with the Rolen triple! Maybe about 70/1 from here.

damn that's 2 that would have been out in GABP, of course Lee's would have been out too. I wonder when Bruce will get moved up to the 5 spot ahead of Gomes.

Can anyone remember the last time Stubbs bunted? God he sucks.
  • se-alum
    Stubbs K's for the 84th time...lol
  • mhs95_06
With the Bruce double, along with the rolen shot, the Reds were very close to a 3-0 lead, but its only 1-0 so far.
  • mhs95_06
Travis needs to keep the bat on his shoulder, or bunt!
  • osu45804
    He was SAFE!!
