  I think Bradley was pretty much a shoe-in to continue coaching the US prior to the Ghana match. However the final game may cause the Prez to reconsider. Bradley got way too cute with his pre-game substitutions and it ended up costing the U.S. Plus what was the deal with them not ever being prepared to play the 1st half?

  Consistently giving up early goals then doing it twice in a game (again in xtra-time) you're supposed to win will put you on the hot seat. Rightfully so, IMO.

  Seriously I think the expectations were higher once they got into the Round of 16 and had it set up nicely.
  
  Perfect situation to take that step forward but U.S. soccer flopped in front of a large audience.
  
  Now they have to wait a long time to make up for it.

  Hockey is my favorite sport. But only b/c I am trying to impress girls by making them think I'm Canadian. Sometimes I even black out a few of my teeth when I go out. I can't really be a fan of a sport that isn't "American". It's really just an act.

  They went exactly as far as I had them pegged to go all along with losing in the round of 16, but they did look pretty shitty at times getting there. I'd call it a slight underperformance

  well, for me, the average joe. they didnt meet my expectations. especially with the group and round of 16 match ups we had, we easily could have been looking at a final 4 spot if we play to our potential. look at what we did a year ago in south africa, beating Egypt, Spain, and almost beating Brazil. we beat teams ranked better than us, but now we struggle against teams ranked lower than us.

  They didn't meet expectations, but I wasn't too disappointed in them.
  
  Mulva made some great points in a previous thread, in all honesty, we were lucky to escape out of group, despite not losing a game. We should have beat Ghana, but again early goals killed us.
  
  Bob Bradley did a great job of getting us to this point, now we need somebody to get us over the hump. It's obviou that this team lacked the focus it truly needed. Weak backline or not, you shouldn't give up goals within the first 5 minutes of an important game.

  I wouldn't say that the US failed to meet expectations. To me they met them. All along I figured on them to get out of the group and lose right away in the knockout round. As for the US not playing to potential, maybe. I see the argument for that point of view, i just don't subscribe to it. The US played in the world cup has they did for the majority of qualifying, sloppy and occasionally lazy early on focused and composed late. The US scored more goals with 5 minutes to go in matches than anyone else in the world. I did not expect that to stop once they got to South Africa.

  Completely contradictory. If we can upset great teams, then we can be upset by inferior teams. But the casual fan actually takes Fifa rankings as if they are accurate. They are so far from accurate its quite comical. I will agree that we could have beaten Ghana ( said the game was a toss-up), but expecting to beat Uruguay is a bit much. We could have, just like we beat Spain....but to expect it would have been asking a lot. That team is better than the USA.

  He was far from a shoe-in, and now is probably out. Its not uncommon as having a national team coach for more than 1 WC is rare...but Bradley doesnt even deserve it. His line-ups were ALWAYS questionable. His final 23 was questionable. His teams were wildly inconsistent over the last 4 years, and it culminated in the World Cup. He was better than Bruce Arena, but not good enough to continue as this countrys coach.

  Bradley wasn't really bad or anything aside from his game day line ups. But I think we switch again. It's fairly rare to keep a coach for 8 years in any sport.

  This team meet my expections and actual exceeded them to a point. I did not expect them to win the group but I figured they would make it out and then lose in the round of 16. I really hope Bradley is gone tho.

  We only won the group because England is vastly overrated and didn't perform up to expectations either.
  
  It's not like we took control to win the group. We won the group with 5 points and went 1-2-0.

  As for the initial. Going into the World Cup, they would have met my expectations. I thought they had a GREAT chance to win the group. Probably 45%. I thought tie, win, win and was hoping for an England slip up or GD win. But, the way we won the group wa a HUGE dissapointment and didnt come close to my expectations.
  
  Then when we got our draw, anything but a Quarterfinal berth was going to be a disappointment, though maybe not a shock, if that makes sense.

  After winning the group and seeing the potential opponents in the knockout stage, you have to be disappointed by their effort. Part of the problem with Americans and their teams is that they build them once they have a big win and feel they should not lose. I do it and so do a lot of people in this country. I expected the team to bring all the momentum from the Algeria game into the game against Ghana and play determined and come out with a sense of purpose. Yet we came out and got hammered in the first half and were completely outplayed. Second half was totally different story and if they play like that for a whole game, they are playing again on Friday. In that sense, I am very disappointed in the way they came out and played in just about every game.
  
  I am not a soccer fan and probably won't care about it at all until 2014. I think this is a disappointment because they never played to their potential for a whole game and made questionable decisions in most games.

  A win and 2 ties would almost always put you through to the next round, but usually in 2nd place.

  i understand that about being beaten by teams not as good as us and the rankings not meaning much, but it is something. and to have to fight back against Slovenia and struggle to win against Algeria, i am not impressed. and i never expected to be Uruguay, but it wouldnt be a surprise if we did like Spain or even like we when we almost beat brazil. playing Uruguay gave us a chance. we didnt have one impressive game in the whole tournament. even England, we played horrible and came away with a tie.

  Well that I completely agree with. 2 players impressed me a lot. Bradley and Donovan. The rest were either awful, ok, or didnt see the field enough to judge because our coach was retarded this tourney.

  yeah i dont get the constant changing of the lineup. there was no team chemistry.

  IMO the USA is not ready to be a world soccer power, they cannot handle that pressure at all. All the sudden people are interested in it here, the nation is rallying behind them and they fell on their faces. I don't know if Bradley needs to go or not, I don't know much about the sport or know about any of the people that could coach the national team but it has to get better from this point I hope! I think US soccer gained some fans this World Cup, they now need to keep them!

  They were simply faster than us which is something we're used to being. Hard to play scrappy ball when the other team is faster than you.

  Yeah, USA didnt win, but they didnt fall on their faces. I mean, Ghana is a good team, about even with us. Do we forget that they played pretty well in their group despite not scoring a goal in the run of play.
