President of US Soccer: team failed to meet expectations

  I dont follow us soccer THAT closely, but do we have any good young defense men coming up? Strikers, midfield and goal keeping seemed to be at least average or above average...but defense was horrid

  I posted this on the other thread.......US soccer needs to hire Jurgen Klinsman. He wants the job and they should give him total control, IMO, he would propel the national team to new heights.

  I like Bradley, but yea, he flubbed the Ghana game.
  
  Still, neither of those two goals should've been conceded.

  Yeah, the two goals should have been defended and cleared out, but honestly, we were VERY lucky to get the 1 goal off the PK. Not only did our only goal come off that PK, but Donovan almost hit it off the post.

  This pretty much confirms that soccer should never be considered "major league" in the US. The grand pooh-bah of the sport itself calls out the coach for losing to a team from Ghana. The US should never lose anything to Ghana unless it is a cheetah spearing or shrinking heads competition. This proves that soccer in the US is just a sideshow for all the illegal aliens who have snuck into our country.

  Bradley playing Ricardo Clark directly led to the first goal. Then Clark, because he is a dumbfuck hothead who cant contorl himself (IE, gets reds and yellow cards like its his job) pick up a yellow. This meant Bradley had to sub him out because, not only was he playing poor....he was very likely to pick up a second yellow. We then had no sub late on when we REALLY needed one.

  When I said fell on their faces I was really meaning couldn't handle the pressure. I just don't get the way the US starts games. They seem to have to play from behind almost always. In a sport where scoring is at a minimum that isn't good strategy at all!

  it's nice to see someone in Gulati's position be candid and not try and sugarcoat how we finished...it shows me that he's passionate about this sport and the USA's place in it...GO USA

  Thats pretty much been the thought of everyone since the final whistle versus Ghana. All the reports out of Irene seemed to indicate it as well as all the reports in the States. Its justified, imo.

  No opinion for me, but the U.S. was the only team to win their group and not make the quarterfinals.

  Overall I'm happy with the outcome, although I obviously realize we could have been much more successful if we cut down just SOME of our mistakes.

  after 2006...anything beyond group would be considered a victory.
  
  Overall, I think the showing was a success....
  Did we fall short...absolutly,
  Should we be facing Uruguay instead of Ghana...probably,
  Was the US gonna win this thing......no way.
  
  The Fact that the team made an exciting and passionate showing was enough to bring soccer to the forefront for some people
  who had never considered it at all...and for that alone, it was a success.
  if you build on that success...2014 and 2018 should be exciting years for the US team. And I fully expect that.

  Because it's better than wishing hateful things on either of you. And I'm kinda hoping neither of you even have a dog. That way it's a really abstract wish.
  
  Also I couldn't think of any better shock value mean thing to say without actually being mean which is silly to do on an internet forum. Even if I think you're being insanely irrational/trolling well (I say trolling well not because you're doing it without being found out but because we keep responding).

  I'd honestly like to see Bradley stay, but its not my choice. If the big wigs of US soccer think they can get someone in to improve off of this performance then so be it.
