What should happen to the US-Slovenia ref?

Ok, not berating you, but everyone who keeps saying the ref called offside. He didnt. He called a foul. The linesman wouldnt call a foul in that situation, just offside. -

Lol I didnt watch the game and only read bits and pieces of the thread. I did read where no explanation was given though, but could it be possible the guy just didnt speak English? I'm assuming that is the language he was being yelled at in. Does FIFA require the referee to speak the language of the teams playing? I'm assuming no. -

They have some language requirements. Most of them know English, but I dont think this guy knew English well enough to respond. But he had to know what they were asking. Basic words like foul and who and fuck would be understood
Lots of refs take it upon themselves to learn a ton of languages. The most common are English, Spanish, French, German, and Portuguese. But this guy was from Mali, so I dont know what languages he would have learned. -
Glory Dayshaha yeah they also made the refs learn english swear words so they could hear our players when they say them. i bet he got an earful of them today.
