NBA FINALS: GAME 7

You can take my post however you want it... Truth of the matter is everything I said was true!! They let BOTH teams play for 3 Quarters, After the 3rd Quarter it was LA 17 FT's to Boston's 13. Pretty much even and Kobe was 5-20 shooting going into the 4th and Boston up 4. Then all of a sudden they start calling all the touch fouls BUT they only went one way to make it 20-4 in the 4th. Even Skip Bayless wrote on his twitter even in the last 1:30 of the game the lakers were GIFTED two possessions in a row w/ points (Gasol's travel & Kobe's non charge on Rasheed). Yes I am pretty pissed off & why? Because I love my team with a passion & got a little teary eyed watching what might be the last run of this great team has had the past 3 years if that makes me a pussy so be it. But I'll be damned if someone else can't recognize the change in officiating from the first 3 quarters to the 4th.

It sounds like Rasheed is probably going to retire, He even tried to go back into the officials locker room to tell them that himself but was kicked out by security (Typical Sheed) BUT I will never say another bad word about Sheed after watching what he did tonight w/ that bad back of his he left it ALL out there on that court during Game 7! KG schooled Gasol for 3+ Quarters until they changed the way they called the game. There may be a whole different roster for the C's next year or maybe just 1-2 pieces different and maybe even a different coach. NOBODY expected us to make it past Cleveland, NOBODY expected us to make it past Orlando... Nobody even gave us a chance vs. LA.... we had a 14 point lead in the 2nd half on the road in Game 7. In Boston they don't hang banners for Division Championships or moral victories but what this team accomplished is nothing short of great.

I will say this it was a HELL of a 3 Quarters I just wish we could have settled it right, Till next year ... GO CELTICS!

The non-charge on Rasheed was correctly called on the floor. They have that giant semi-circle on the floor for a reason. If a defender has any part of his body within the circle, it is always a blocking foul. Sheed just should have set up on the outside of the circle if he didn't want to pick up his 6th foul.

Outside of that, I agree with everything that you said. Rapeage was occurring on one end of the floor with no whistles blown, while touch fouls were called on the other end.

Of course Skip Bayless said that, he picked the Celtics to win at the start of the season and now he is wrong.
Cry all you want about the free throws. Fact is the Lakers took it to the basket and the Celtics were jumpshooters. I can't think of a missed call on fouls in the 4th quarter.

HUGE RONDO FAN HERE. I will say this though. We can talk about how the Celtics didn't have Perks, how Ray was cold, or how they couldn't grab the rebounds. BUT......I will take a different approach. I personally think the Boston's inability to score from the point guard position (Rondo) hurt them tremendously. If Rondo had an outside shot, it opens up more and better shots for Allen, Pierce, and Garnett. The Lakers dared Rondo to shoot while playing tight coverage on the other starters. I was even thinking during the game that maybe Nate Robinson should have played more during 4th quarter due to his ability to both drive and shoot. I can't blame Doc too much, because he see his guys practice everyday. Just my opinion though.

Of course you can't think of a missed call...... BOTH teams were doing the SAME exact thing they were doing through the first 3 quarters but for some reason the ticky tack fouls were being awarded in LA's favor in the 4th but every time Baby or Sheed or KG went down low there was A LOT of contact we just were not getting it, Down I think 4 late KG drives to the hole and Gasol "blocked" him when it was clearly shown on the replay he got a lot of KG's arm.... down 3 with a minute to play Lakers forced to take a shot at the buzzer, Gasol clearly shoves Rondo down and he goes flying backwards and it leaves Pau wide open for the rebound. The first 3 Quarters were a defensive struggle for both teams playing hard & physical but the 4th all of the life was taken out of it by the damn FT parade when BOTH teams were doing the same thing.

As much as Rondo does and trust me he does A LOT for this team. There isn't much bad you can say about this kid but we've said all year, IF ONLY he had a shot! But this was just the end of his 3rd year in the league he WILL get better with the way he dedicates a little part of his game to the off-season each year. I sure as hell HOPE Doc comes back he out coached Phil this whole series.

Excuse me though, I know I have a lot of posters that have disliked what I have said all season long but damn it I am still pissed. If you would have told me Mid-January that we would have been tied w/ 6 minutes to go in the 4th on the road vs. the lakers in game 7 of the NBA Finals, I honestly would not have believed you. Not that I didn't think we had the guys to do it or anything just the heart and effort wasn't there all year. If we had the dedication & heart of the playoffs (minus the injuries) in the regular season, game 7 could have been in The Garden & possibly a whole different outcome. We can go 16-66 next year no matter what I'll be back again the following season. So go ahead and question my fandom all you want. I'm just worried and looking forward at the same time to the next few months and how it plays out. With the right few pieces we can make another run at this.

I do I give the lakers credit down 14 in the 2nd half at home in game 7, I thought ALL the momentum was in our favor & it was destiny to win this thing. Having Perk out there for the boards could have really helped seal this deal. We let up just a tad and LA took advantage of that. KG, Sheed, Paul they were all gassed in that 4th. With that said I STILL fucking HATE LA and as C's fan I hope u LA fans can hate me (respectively of course lol) & Boston in return.

Wow... didn't know a grown man could cry so much about a lost. Boston ran out of gas down the stretch; LA played harder. The aggressive team gets to the line. Deal with it. It just wasn't meant to be.

I watched this game complely unbiased and went back and forth on who I wanted to win. Come fourth quarter, it's always called tighter, for whatever reasons and the Lakers were the more aggressive team. I actually didn't think it was officiated that bad and you just know that Kobe is going to get the calls. Kobe being a smart player also knows that and finds ways to get himself to the line.

Boston outperformed my expectations and had a chance. It's a tough one to swallow if you area Boston fan, however I do think the Lakers were the better team.

After Boston defeated Orlando, Doc Rivers said the Celtics starting unit has never lost a series together. I saw a quote where he said "Our starting team still hasn't lost, we haven't lost with Perkins." Oh well.
