The AnswerThe Indians have called up top prospect Carlos Santana today and he should be in the lineup for tonights game vs Washington. Lou Marson was sent down to make room.

miller45452003AMEN! I'm anxious to watch this kid!
-
jordo212000Good move
-
mucalum49Coincidence that he was called up the same weekend they are drawing a larger crowd for Strasburg? That will be a good match up of two future stars.
-
jordo212000So did Carlos Santana learn to speak English a little better this past week? We all know that was the reason he was still down in Columbus. A team can't succeed if the catcher can't communicate... but wait a minute, the Clippers were in 1st and English speaking Marson's team was in last?
Look I know why he wasn't brought up until June 1st, but the stupid "He doesn't speak good enough English!" argument was a complete joke. Shapiro could have come up with something better. -

Shapiro is a dolt. -
THE4RINGZGood now the Tribe can get this kid up to an all star quality catcher and trade him for some prospects.

Laley23To go along with his new nickname.
-
newarkcatholicfanHe is far from ready but many of you will have to learn this the hard way.
He throws out about 19% of base runners this season.
Down from 30% the last couple of seasons. -

Who cares. Marson and Redmond were hitting around the Mendoza line. How come there is no mention of that? If that is his weak area, how come he can't work on that Cleveland? Is there some sort of elixir down in Columbus that solves throwing out base runners? -
BRFGood Good Good!
-
miller45452003Fuck it then...make him our DH..he surely can hit better than steroid free Unpronk at his whopping .235 average.
-
newarkcatholicfanI still laugh at all of those who screamed and whined when I called Pronk being on Roids long ago.

Precisely. The reason he was just brought up is the same reason that Strasburg just got brought up by the Nats and that the Pirates just brought up Tabata and Lincoln (and likely Alvarez in the near future...I hope, LaRoche has been BRUTAL recently) -- ARBITRATION CLOCK. I mean, please, when teams have been as bad as Cleveland, Washington and Pittsburgh have been recently, just about anyone who's still following and cares is a diehard. Don't insult their intelligence by giving some lame-ass reason why a prospect hasn't been called up yet when most everyone knows the real reason. -

And that 19% dwarfs Victor's pathetic numbers when he was catching. I do think that keeping Marson over Redman would have been a better choice. Marson is really good at throwing out base stealers.newarkcatholicfan;386696 wrote: He throws out about 19% of base runners this season.

BCBulldogI am a little surprised they decided to call him up at all this year. The team is terrible and Santana still has a lot to work on. I'd rather see him do it on a winning team in AAA, than on the dead last Indians. But, I'm a Reds fan, so I don't really give a crap what they do.

Marson was leading MLB. -
newarkcatholicfanVictor was above 19% when with Clevleand.
I will try to find that stat later.
