About LeBron supposedly not playing well in the playoffs...

No it doesn't, you're a professional athlete, win the damn game.

Stats mean nothing at the end of the day. At the end of the day, all that matters in a team sport is did your team win or not. Lebron and the Cavs laid eggs the last 2 games and Boston beat them around and won this series. Lebron and Cleveland didn't lose it, Boston won by playing great defense, basically shutting everyone but Lebron down and forced James to turn it over a bunch. Sure Lebron had good stats but without winning the series, his stats mean nothing. Would people think his game against the Pistons in 07 meant as much if the Cavs still lost that game, great stats but a loss hampers everything.

SQ_Crazies wrote: LOL...I sent you texts saying wtf about LeBron because he had what? 1 FG attempt at half in that one game? But whatever, most of you guys fail to realize what's happening here but I won't bother trying to explain it anymore.

Kobe has it between the ears huh? I'll bank that one in my head for later when I need a good laugh. The memories of most people on this site seem to date back no further than what was on ESPN yesterday.
LOL, exactly. You obviously thought something was off with him only having one attempt, and then when he only has 2. You even said that he looked out of it. You said that it's mindblowing because you had never seen a LBJ look not aggressive. You said he looked gone. Do you want me to keep going? You noticed the exact shit some people have been saying. So what's the problem with them saying it?

Kobe doesn't have it between the ears? Now that's rich. Not only does he have it between the ears, he's got it on 4 fingers, and maybe 5 in a couple weeks. Only a hater would say Kobe doesn't have it between the ears when it matters most. He's proven 4 times that he's mentally tough enough to FINISH. LBJ is an incredible IQ, but I have yet to see him stay mentally tough in the playoffs and FINISH. He stayed tough last year, couldn't finish-- not his fault, it was his teams. This year, he wasn't mentally tough, nor was his team.

I guess I'm missing your point because I believe that in the first post on this thread I said that game 5 may have been LeBron's worst career game. Soooo....I'm not saying he didn't play poorly in that one.

And I'm not even going to bother arguing about Kobe. It's such a simple concept to me and such a confusing one that others seem to want to ignore that it's almost mind numbing at this point--not really even worth the discussion I suppose. Prime Shaq, titles. Nothing, quits on team, can't get out of first round. Gasol gift wrapped, all of a sudden Kobe is a monster again. LeBron...well, never even played with a player on the level of Gasol, let alone a prime Shaq.

    LOL..I'm going to lunch.

This is my point..... SQ: "I'm already sick of a few certain dumbass people around here for saying that LeBron didn't play well in the playoffs". By LBJ standards, he didn't play well in the Boston series. The consistancy was NOT there. That is the point. We know the stats for all the playoffs combined. We also know that in the Boston series he didn't play LBJ ball. We know game 5 was pathetic. We know in the closing game, he still had moments where he looked "gone". We know that this stuff happened before game 5 because we saw glimpes here and there in the previous 4 games.

You're not going to argue about Kobe... but continue to do so, lol. Typical fashion.

SQ continues to make himself look clueless is statements about Kobe. If there is one thing in sports that I know for sure, it's that Kobe has "it".
  • SQ_Crazies
Or what I do is state the truth, yet it's ignored. Kobe doesn't have anything LeBron doesn't have except better teammates.

jpake, it wasn't an argument--all I did was state the facts of the situation.

    You can't honestly believe that...

Delonte banging Lebrons Mom should have no affect on Lebrons performance. Besides I'm sure Lebron was there with his fake camera taking pictures anyways, so he already knew about it.

    And a cutthroat attitude.

Kobe isn't afraid to call out his teammates. If you want to call it "throwing them under the bus", so be it. Maybe LBJ should try it.

Until Lebron finally says "enough" and gets a ruthlessness about him, he's gonna continue to be "Mr Nice Guy" with a bunch of EMPTY fingers.

And where was "it" 2 years ago against Boston?

This is pretty sad, Kobe fans have turned to useless intangibles and meaningless team accomplishments to try to hoodwink the masses.

"It" two years ago was with Boston. LA got beat by a better team. No one player has done it themselves. No two players have done it themselves. MANY times Horace Grant, Kukoj (or whater), Fisher, Horry, and Shaw helped Kobe and MJ get their rings. Fact is, Kobe has 4 rings. Kobe has won rings when they weren't the #1 seed. LBJ has lost championships when the #1 seed. Kobe and his teammates have proven that they have had "it". LBJ is still soul searching. I would be more inclined to say he's got it, just needs the teammates if I didn't see him GIVE UP in game 5; because last year, he played GREAT against Orlando.

Here's another side of the "it" argument, I think Dwayne Wade has "it", and although he's been on bad teams, he showed "it" in the playoffs this year. The guy was an absolute monster, but had no help.

So your reasoning of him not winning every single series is just dumb.

Legacy, schmegacy. Dude is a PUSS. Until he becomes a ruthless, cold hearted son of a bitch and quits nuzzling up to all of his opponents nutsacks wanting to be "buddy buddy" he's always going to be the bridesmaid.

I LOATHE Kobe Bryant but when it's "go time" that mother fucker gets it DONE. Challenge HIS heart /desire and he puts 40 on you. Challenge Lebron's and he starts chewing his god damn fingernails.

I don't care WHO Lebron is teamed up with, until he develops the assassin within (ala Kobe, Jordan, Magic, Bird), he'll be NOTHING for than a stat sheet filler.

Gasol was Antwan Jamison before joining the Lakers. They have nearly identical career stats, and had a penchant for putting up good numbers on perpetually bad teams that never won anything.

Everyone puts those titles on Shaq's back, but he didn't win a title until Kobe emerged. It's not like he was reeling them off with no help before Kobe became Kobe.

I agree with everyone else about the Lebron needing that gene that makes teammates fear you forcing them to raise their game because they know they will be made miserable if they don't. We know Jordan had that, Kobe certainly does, but Lebron seems to not want to alienate anyone and you just can't have that from your leader when the chips are down.

I bet that Jordan didn't have "it" either because he needed Scottie, right? What happens when LeBron has the best regular season team in the NBA? Can't get within a game of the finals. A game like this could go on and on and on. Kobe has proven many times that he has "it" when it matters most. LBJ still has to prove that he has "it" when it matters most. It won't be proven until he's got the gold around his finger. His time will come.

This thread would have never been started if SQ-crazies wasn't a big wuss and took the bet he said he would back in January.
