About LeBron supposedly not playing well in the playoffs...

    Very good question.
And I ain't just talkin' Cavs fans--in fact, most of that group has been quiet. You'd think your fellow Laker fans would have more to talk about since you're still playing. Hell, I would rather talk about the teams still playing.

We have plenty to talk about. Notice how the 104949 threads about this crap finally managed to fall off the 1st page?

You care more about LeBron's stat line than him actually winning games.
  • SQ_Crazies
Um. Well you can thank 2quik for muddying up the 1st page.

    False.

But I have a problem with people parading around as if they're brilliant saying that LeBron played poorly when he in fact didn't.

All I've seen is arguments for why Kobe is now the #1 guy again, but I get slammed when I try to make my case...ok...

Man, I'm so over this site. Whoever said it was the minors was onto something--the level of discussion is just garbage around here for the most part. This thread has been a good example.
  • Automatik
Why don't you move along then? Maybe create a new forum dedicated to LeBron?
  • SQ_Crazies
Maybe lets just have a discussion rather than post creepy pictures of someone else's child crying in a pathetic, unoriginal attempt to be funny.

You know what man, you simply need to get over yourself.

I honestly don't even have a problem with you. But you really piss people off with this whole charade of bullshit. You're not THAT great a person. No one here is. The difference is, the majority of everyone else understands this. You don't.

If you are unhappy with this site's intelligence at large, then find a more knowledgeable site.

It's next to impossible to have a rational discussion with you most of the time though man.

    51/114 from the field, 7/26 from 3, 52/70 FTs, 27 TOs.

That equals out to 44% FG, 26% 3PT, 74% FT, Almost 5 TOs per game.

LeBron put up good stats, but he played poorly for the better part of this series.

I'll be honest I didn't even read the 1st post, but I do know this, Lebron is still the best player in the game, and you can take...well you get the picture.
  • reclegend22
LeBron's obviously a great player, but you can't deny that his playoff performances in recent seasons -- and he did NOT play to the level of competitiveness he should have in the latter part of the Boston series, despite what some of the statistics may say -- have taken away from his definitive place as the game's "best."

Kobe still has an argument, and a damn good one. And, at least for the foreseeable future, it looks like LeBron is going to have to take that position from Kobe's cold dead hands before it's "The King's" for good. Funny thing is, as I've pointed out before, Kevin Durant might snatch it before LeBron ever has the chance (the "definitive best player in the League" that is).

I put more faith in Lebron's team taking a dump in the playoffs rather than Lebron flopping completely. Game 5 was an anomaly, I hope we never see that from him ever again.

And seriously, Kobe has "it"? What happens when Kobe doesn't have Gasol or prime Shaq? Can't get out of the first round.
  • reclegend22
All I'm saying is that, at present time, I don't think LeBron can be labeled the "definitive best," with no other serious contenders. That's what Jordan was in the '90s. No one was close. That's what some here -- we all know who -- are trying to label LeBron. And that's just not true. The ballots aren't all in yet, and this year's playoffs are a prime example.

Is LeBron "one of the greatest" in the NBA, yes. Perhaps even tied with Kobe, or maybe even slightly ahead of Kobe depending on a person's point of view. But Kobe still has, if not the right, the argument to lay claim to the title of best. Not the definitive best, but the best.

There is no definitive best. That's all I'm saying.

Wait right there, I agree that a lot of this stuff is bullshit, because I care more about the Cavs then I do one player, BUT NOBODY can deny LeBron's previous playoff performances.

This year, he stunk in the Boston series, but last season he had a TREMENDOUS postseason. His stat line in the Orlando series was RIDICULOUS. Something like 38/9/9.

The year before that, he nearly beat the Celtics (who went on to win the title) by himself. He had a great game 7.

2007 was an amazing year. He had the greatest playoff performance of all-time against Detroit. Going for 48 (25 straight points and 29 of the teams final 30 points) in getting the Cavs over the EC hump.

His playoff debut in 2005 saw him grab a triple-double against the Wizards.

The talks that Lebron doesn't play well in the postseason is just stupid. He's carried his team in past seasons.

And although he didn't play his best against Boston, they defended him well and he averaged 27/9/7. We are just spoiled. No other player in the league can play below their standards and average 27/9/7.
  • BR1986FB
Who said he "didn't play well in the playoffs?" He shit in his hat the last three games against Boston when it MATTERED.. Up until then, he was fine.

Legacy, schmegacy. Dude is a PUSS. Until he becomes a ruthless, cold hearted son of a bitch and quits nuzzling up to all of his opponents nutsacks wanting to be "buddy buddy" he's always going to be the bridesmaid.

I LOATHE Kobe Bryant but when it's "go time" that mother fucker gets it DONE. Challenge HIS heart /desire and he puts 40 on you. Challenge Lebron's and he starts chewing his god damn fingernails.

I don't care WHO Lebron is teamed up with, until he develops the assassin within (ala Kobe, Jordan, Magic, Bird), he'll be NOTHING for than a stat sheet filler.

I agree with BR. Lebron still doesn't have the killer instinct of Jordan and Kobe.

SQ- Please, you can't stay away from this site mang. I think your 6k posts proves that. You love this shit. But hey, prove us wrong. I'm sure it would give you a lot more time to focus on school work, or not ha. LBJ is arguably the best player in the league, thus people expect him to play like that and then some for the playoffs. Post as many stats as you want to, that won't trick what many peoples eyes saw-- including yours. You yourself sent me a few texts asking wtf was up with LeBron. He has some pretty good stats, and some stats that weren't too good. It was the fact he played like a BITCH in game 5. No other way to say it. He had some pretty good stats in the closing game, but there were still times when it looked like he had a case of the fuck-its. That is what people are talking about. I was in Kobe's corner. Then I saw LBJ become a fuckin' man this year, but they play more than the regular season; and although he had good stats, that series against Boston showed me he has more to learn between the ears. His talent is there, it's better than Kobe's. But Kobe's got it between the ears when it matters most. LBJ is 25, he'll get it sooner rather than later.
  • SQ_Crazies
LOL...I sent you texts saying wtf about LeBron because he had what? 1 FG attempt at half in that one game? But whatever, most of you guys fail to realize what's happening here but I won't bother trying to explain it anymore.

Kobe has it between the ears huh? I'll bank that one in my head for later when I need a good laugh. The memories of most people on this site seem to date back no further than what was on ESPN yesterday.
  • thedynasty1998
There are no excuses for Lebron's game 5 showing, but if the rumors about Delonte and his mom are true, it makes it somewhat understandable.

Sorry, don't watch ESPN (although I do sometimes listen to Mike & Mike on my drive in to work). If I want more sports info fast AND accurate, I go elsewhere.
