Yes that is what I meant -
rock_knutneI thought Italy looked dominant until they gave up the goal, their passing was crisp. Once Lippi brought on Camoranesi and went 4-4-2 they took shape again. I thought the officiating was terrible both ways, a lot of missed calls and calls that should have been no calls. The driving rain also effected both teams. Typical Italian result for a World Cup opening match, they'll only get stronger. They definitely missed Pirlo, he would have delivered the ball better on those set pieces.

Back injury, hopefully it's minor and he will be good to go for the next match. -
jtownclassicsDid Brad Friedel try out/ was invited for the US team? Brad Guzan is one of the US's backups, yet he back's up Friedel at Aston Villa.

italy looked average as far as the upper tier teams. They won't make it past the 1st or 2nd rounds of knockout play. -

Friedel retired from international competition in 2005. -

Every game except Algeria/Slovenia. Also, missed the first half of the Denmark match this morning. Good to see you noticed the diving too. Best actors in the game....by far!! Are you in denial?
lol@ the comment about the US. Next time an American dives/flops and looks like he just got shot by a sniper and is intense agony.....make sure to point it out to me.
Italy looked slow. They have too much talent to be playing like that. Lineup needs to be tweaked a bit IMO. -

I heard the same garbage from people like you four years ago and look what happened. As I said before, typical opening World Cup match for Italy......they look good for stretches and then fall alseep only to wake up and get something out of the match.DeyDurkie5;389591 wrote:lol you disagree? -

So the Americans didn't emblish a single play in that England match? Come on dude! Let's just not bring it up anymore, you obviosly choose to target ONLY Italy when in fact there's players flopping and acting like they're near death in every single game.
As for Italy, you guys can call it slow but I saw a team lacking flow and obviously Pirlo's absecne has alot to do with that. Again, as I staed before, once Lippi made the switch to "Camo" and went 4-4-2, they looked swift and dangerous. Although, I thought their possesion and passing was very crisp in the opening 40 minutes of the game, no end product that's all. -

My father used to say he was the only Italian ever to be blessed with Brazilian feet, lol.gerb131;389584 wrote:I miss Roberto Baggio I bought some shitty cleats with that dudes name on them. -

No I can honestly say with pride that the US does not flop in agony like Italy. I did notice a few trying to sell a foul, but no one doing down in terrible pain only to be A-ok in 5 seconds. But yeah...lets move on.
I was surprised Camoranesi didn't start. Shitty now because he got a card, so he probably won't next match either. I'd stick with the 4-4-2 and maybe give a Quagliarella a shot. -

Yeah and that was 4 years ago...I'm talking about the match today and how they looked compared to the other top tier teams in this cup. They looked the worst out of them and if you disagree then I don't know what to tell ya. It's okay to admit your italians just aren't as good as their 06 team rock, the world won't end. -
hoops23I missed todays action, first day of the World Cup I missed Had a long day yesterday and used today as a recovery day.
I was kind of surprised to see Japan beat Cameroon though.
Netherlands 2-0 victory over Denmark was expected (though it definitely was closer than 2-0 thanks to the own goal), and Italy and Paraguay played to a draw... Italy hasn't been that impressive to me. -
SageMissed Cameroon today. Still can't believe M'bia's shot didn't go down. SMH.

LOL that is fucking awesome. I love how after the goal and after he gets the ball out of the net he lays on his back and puts hes legs up and down. -
AutomatikHas anyone noticed the number of dime pieces in the stands? Good lord! The ones supporting Netherlands were A-mazing.
