    Orlando Cabrera 6
    Brandon Phillips 4
    Joey Votto 3
    Scott Rolen 5
    Jay Bruce 9
    Laynce Nix 7
    Drew Stubbs 8
    Ryan Hanigan 2
    Bronson Arroyo 1

vs. RHP Ross Ohlendorf (0-0, 3.60 ERA).

Here are the Reds starters pitches per inning pitched:
    Player P/IP
    1. M Leake 14.61
    2. A Harang 18.17
    3. B Arroyo 16.53

Reds are 14th in the NL in ERA, and 7th in innings pitched per start at 5.9.

Hopefully they can keep hittin'! Expect the Pirates to sweep....lol
  • big_hits24
Hopefully the Reds can get a sweep of the Bucs this time around! Wouldn't that be nice!?
  • Mooney44Cards
I'd like to see Nix and Hanigan switched in the batting order. Hanigan needs some more at bats, at least until he cools off (if he does at all). The Pirates play well at home, hopefully guys like Votto, Cabrera, Bruce, and Phillips continue their recent success......

    go reds!
  • Mooney44Cards
Johnny Gomes has been tearing it up. I think he should sit tonight!
  • Heretic
Hopefully the Pirates can do what they did the last time they played the Reds. That would make me happy and I like to be happy.
  • gerb131
They better sweep em. Reds up 1-0 in the 4th.
  • wildcats20
    Loaded here with 1 out.

And good lord. Bronson pops out and Cabrera weakly grounds out.
  • SportsAndLady
Im not watching, but bronson is pitching a hell of a game
  • wildcats20
And Arroyo gives up a bomb to left making it 2-1 Reds.

Reds scored in the top half off a double by Rolen, scoring Joey
  • wildcats20
Arty comes in in relief of Bronson and shuts the door hard.
  • wildcats20
    Gomes was safe. Bad call.
  • stroups
I would like to see a better replay of that play at the plate........ it looked like Gomes beat the ball home
  • Mooney44Cards
Terrible call at the plate.....Gomes was safe. Hopefully that call doesn't come back to bite them in the bottom of the inning. The Pirates are just annoying.
  • wildcats20
He slid directly into the catcher's foot pushing it back, ALL before the the tag was made.
  • gerb131
Gomes looked safe to me, he was chugging.
Hopefully Cordero can nail it down.
  • SportsAndLady
    Come on Cordero...wtf

if they blow another game to the pirates, with all the friends from pittsburgh I have, I will be extremely angry.
  • gerb131
Made us sweat it out again but he gets it done again.
  • SportsAndLady
    Nice, got the win.

    Great pitching tonight.

Up until Cabrera's double in the 9th, the 1-3 hitters were something like 0-12...and we still got the win!
  • charliehustle14
Big win, now on to the next. No let ups...especially against the Pirates. After they swept us, anything short of a sweep of them is a disappointment.
  • jordo212000
Good win for the Reds. Cordero did his usual charade but he got it done.

Why again was Gomes not in the lineup? Haha. Because Ohlendorff has been "tough on righties...well that was mostly last season." -Chris Welsh

Hey your boy Laynce Nix drove in one of our two runs, I wouldn't complain too much.
  • dave
this team is starting to excite me.
  • swamisez
2-1 was hardly exciting, but it gets the job done.

Nice play by Arroyo. Another quality start from the lanky righty.
