SQ_CraziesI'm a homer?
You're a dumbass.
It's well documented around here that if LeBron plays for the Knicks (or who the fuck ever) that I'll still be as big a fan as I am now. And the part about Jackson is hilarious, how does that make me a homer? He's not even on the Cavs roster anymore lmao...
Fail. -
Big Red MonsterIt all hinges on what happens in the playoffs. If they dont win a title I believe he is gone. With what they did for LeBron (getting Shaq and Jamison) and they dont win, what more can they possibly do?
-
devil1197LeBron was annoyed with questions, but he doesn't want to end the FA buzz early.
He isn't leaving the Cavaliers in limbo, Cleveland is fine without Ariza and are the favorites to win the title. Remember, that was last summer with Ariza, Cleveland still had to prove that they would do everything possible for LeBron to win the title. The moves Cleveland has made after that to be in the position they are to race for the title will keep LeBron here. Signing solid role players like Parker and Moon has paid off huge in the playoffs so far imo. Picking up Jamison for nothing is the steal this season and it may just result in a ring. -

devil1197j, I wouldn't include Sage in that group. He may post dumbass shit sometimes (like most of us do) but he is nowhere on the level of douchness as those guys.

j_crazypersonally, i like sage way more than some others. but thought enough people considered him a troll that he should make the yearbook photo.

devil1197Hell, you could just add all of gibby's usernames on there to fill the trolls plus some more little guys.

SQ_CraziesJust say Gibby out loud.
Now go wash the gay out of your mouth. -

Cuz I know if Bigfoot showed up the first thing you'd do is ask to suck his dick. -

Mooney44CardsWhy does everyone talk about this like he's already made up his mind and we're all just waiting to find out? Ummmm I bet he has an idea what he wants to do, but is far from being certain, so how bout everybody just shut the fuck up about it, and quit reading too much into a single sentence that sounds like what ANYONE returning to their hometown after amazing success would say.

How about you shut the fuck up and realize that their our opinions?Mooney44Cards wrote: Why does everyone talk about this like he's already made up his mind and we're all just waiting to find out? Hell, might as well not have this site to discuss our opinions.
Just saying. -
wes_mantoothGo Teams!!!
Go Lebron!!!
Go Fans!!! -
BRFI read through the whole thread and really enjoyed our Pro-Cav brother's comments. It DOES worry me a little bit on how the LBJ statement was made, but we are good for now and that's all that matters in today's sports world. Go Cavs!

He likes the buzz, yet doesn't want to answer questions? He can't have it both ways.devil1197 wrote: LeBron was annoyed with questions, but he doesn't want to end the FA buzz early.

And yes, he is leaving Cleveland in limbo. They can't plan their future with him already under contract.
They missed out on Ariza because Lebron couldn't commit longterm. With Ariza Cleveland is better. Parker and Moon are not half the players that Ariza is. They bring in Shaq to improve the team, yet he has been a nonfactor. They draft a guy from the Congo instead of someone who could contribute immediately like Dejuan Blair. They won't part with Hickson to bring in one of the elite PF in the NBA.
You might think they made good moves, I personally don't. Maybe Lebron doesn't either. I'd be more confident in him staying if he had Williams, Ariza, Stoudamire and Varejao as his running mates compared to his current guys.
Reality is that the Cavs are lucky to be 1-1 with the Celtics after 2 home games. Right now, the Celtics look to be the better team. If somehow the Cavs can regroup and get past Boston, they have Orlando waiting and then whoever out of the West. At this point in the playoffs, I would say the Cavs are the 6th best (Lakers, Utah, San Antonio, Orlando and Boston). Does that mean they won't win it? Not necessarily, but something has to change. -
lhslep134Dynasty I'm sure you're aware the Cavs drafted Eyenga because his contract wasn't on the books this year, right?
If so, then your comment is really stupid, because it freed up money used to pay Shaq and Moon, because all first round picks in the NBA all guaranteed money unless they stay overseas, and we drafted Eyenga knowing he still needed a couple years. I'd rather have money to spend on a swingman or Shaq than on Blair who wouldn't even see playing time this year over Shaq, Z, Hickson, Varejao, or Jamison (see Jackson, Darnell). -
thedynasty1998
I've responded to this argument numerous times, and each time someone says this it looks dumber and dumber.lhslep134 wrote: Dynasty I'm sure you're aware the Cavs drafted Eyenga because his contract wasn't on the books this year, right?

The Cavs drafted 30th last year, the pick at #30 makes $824,000.
Guess what some of the bench guys on the Cavs make this year?
Jawad Williams - $736k
Darnell Jackson - $736k
Leon Powe - $855k
Hickson - $1.4 million
Telfair - $2.5 million
Gibson - $4 million
To say the Cavs wanted to save money is just a dumb argument when you are paying guys like Jackson and Williams (2 unproven players, who have limited potential and who are not going to help in the playoffs) similar money.
Please make an argument to justify your argument now. -
thedynasty1998BTW, what the hell were the Cavs thinking when they resigned Boobie? Talk about a FO mistake. Those are the decisions that make you scratch your head.
-
lhslep134Well first of all Jackson isn't even on the team anymore LMAO.
Secondly we don't have to pay all of Telfair's contract that was part of the trade.
So then why would we want to pay $824,000 to absolutely not play at all. Blair would NOT play for us, the only reason he plays in SA is because of a lack of depth down low, whereas we have Shaq, Z (who won't even play anymore), Varejao, and Hickson (I'll leave Jamison off because we didn't have him at the time we drafted Eyenga, whereas we pretty much knew we were getting Shaq).
Wouldn't you rather have that $824,000 go towards someone who actually gets playing time? If your answer is no, then I see why you stated what you said, though I think it's flawed logic. -
lhslep134
I agree with this because Boobie represents a Catch-22. I really think he's talented enough to play and he's a better one on one defender than Mo, but if you put Boobie in you're basically saying "Mo, we don't trust you". I really would like to see Boobie play more, but not at the cost of completely throwing Mo off any momentum he may still have from Game 1.thedynasty1998 wrote: BTW, what the hell were the Cavs thinking when they resigned Boobie? This is going to sound absolutely ABSURD, but I kind of want to see what Telfair can do playing against Rondo. Telfair is our best on ball guard (at least in terms of being able to stay with Rondo), but I don't know what to expect from him offensively, despite his outstanding effort towards the end of the season. -
thedynasty1998First off, your argument was about money. Why pay Jackson and Williams similar money for the same reason you said to not pay Blair? Your logic is flawed.
SA has a lack of depth, but the Cavs have a lack of talent. Hickson, V, Z and Shaq are not good low post players. And of the 4, only Shaq is a threat offensively. Blair provides some offense and does get minutes with those 4 guys. The guy has played pretty well this year.
Plus, he's playing with Tim Duncan who is locking up the majority of minutes at one of the post positions, so he has to compete with McDyess and Bonner for minutes, both of whom are similar to what the Cavs have to offer.
You are not making a good argument, the sole fact that Darnell Jackson and Jawad Williams are making the same money and are not playing contradicts your whole argument.
