Jeremy Shockey goes off on LeBron

I don't have to see him run a 40 to know he is faster than he was in high school. Seriously dude, whatever you're smoking, I want some.

Why add the last part? can you not have a civil discussion?

He won't be in NY, and yes I would still "crush on him". I could care less where he goes, I'd like him to stay in Cleveland and am almost certain he will but I'm a fan of the player more than I am the team.

    Civil?

    I'm being called a meat rider...civil...right.

And that's the level of this conversation at this point because an 8 year old--someone who was 2 when LeBron was in high school--would know that he is faster now.

I never called you that and thanks for another insult. Like I said ALL HAIL KING JAMES WITH ALL THOSE RINGS HE HAS.

Yes, because LeBron has been in the league for so long.

He also refused to go to a crappy franchise and demanded to go to the Lakers where he was handed great players all around him.

Get a clue man, Cleveland has had to build the team around LeBron and it takes time to build a championship team. They are extremely close this year so it should be a good ride.

SQ: You're telling me that you were either 6'2" your senior year, or that you're 6'8" now? Ha, okay.

I find it funny people are actually getting a bit snippy over this topic. But hey, I'll add my 2 cents. Do I think LBJ could be a good pro right now? No. Do I think he could be in the NFL if he chose football over basketball years ago? Definitely. Do I think he could be a good pro if he went to football and tooks a couple years to get back into the groove? Probably. LBJ is crazy athletic, but lets not disrespect the actual professionals of the sport. There is more to the game of football than freak athletism. Nobody knows if he has great hands in WR terms. Nobody knows if he could read a coverage at a professional level. Nobody knows if he could run great routes. I assume that he isn't good at the latter two and it would take practice to become good. It comes down to he would have to prove it. Maybe he should retire for a year or two to show the football world what they missed. However, I think he could have choosen his position in football if he stayed with it. With years of practice, I don't see why he couldn't be a pro-bowl football player.

As for the speed thing. Just because he gained weight doesn't mean he got slower. It's called getting stronger, adding power, and dropping the body fat %. All of which he's done since graduation. I imagine he's quicker and faster than he was in HS. As for the 40, eh I dont know. The 40 is all about technique. I imagine that he would run in the 4.4's or a bit faster.

"I'm not going to bet you in anything for one reason--because I know you won't hold up your end. You disappear from a thread when your team drops a game, I know you wouldn't hold up your end."

Thats what I thought you were just running your mouth again.

Lebron would, in my opinion, be the best goal line tight end in the NFL. With his 6'8 height and one of the best vertical leaps ever, he'd simply out-jump everyone for the football. He'd catch everything thrown his way. He was an All-State receiver as a Sophomore. He could have played anywhere for football if he'd have stuck to it.

He'd be a Hall of Fame tight end because he'd have nearly sixteen touchdowns a year.

Theres nothing Lebron cant do, Hell he should run track for USA in the next olympics, and while hes at it, do long jump and high jump because afterall hes one of the best athletes in the world !!!!

Randy Moss would be a small 2 guard size in the NBA. While he is athletic, he wouldn't be anything extraordinary. Lebron on the other hand, would be one of the tallest players in the league. On top of that, he has well above average speed, amazing leaping ability, and a football type body. He may not dominate right away, but he would contribute for sure.

The Usain Bolt comparison doesn't work either because he has never even played the sport. We don't know if he can catch or take any contact. Lebron has experience in football so he already has a feel for the game. Besides, although basketball is not near as physical as football, Lebron takes some big hits and still shows some amazing body control.
    Thank you!

Get off my back people CHRIST

LOL your name should be DB31187 instead of Hb, because you've defined the term douche bag in this thread.
  • Hb31187
No, but really when should he start training SQ? I mean if youd hop off him and let him get to it, he could be the greatest Olympian ever. Michael Phelps who?

Leboob would be a great fit for the Browns. The franchise is a total bust right now full of losers, and last time I checked, Leboob doesn't have a championship ring on his hand. Leboob would be fun to watch crying to to the back judge and side judge everytime he gets bumped or held.

There's more to playing football than being big and fast.....so, NO Lebron would not be anything more than an average NFL'er, AT BEST.

I think he'd be a hell of a hockey player though.....

Tyson Gay is not 165 lol, hes a lean 180-185 minimum. Ive ran against and with him several times throughout the years, he hasnt been that small since MAYBE freshman year.
  • SQ_Crazies
Well anything I can find on him has him listed at 165.
