Colt McCoy should be just fine as an NFL QB. And bonus, he isn't a rapist.
Your Jets better win it all this season cause when the salary cap comes back next year and they have to pay the piper, half that team will be gone.
They'll be fine. Tannenbaum is the GOAT GM when it comes to salary cap stuff.
Yea, he's better than Colbert from Pittsburgh.

BTW how many rings does Tannenbaum have?
You can try and troll me all you want but I could really give a fuck less what you say. I don't tie my self worth to what the team I root for does.

I think the only good pick we got was getting McCoy in the 3rd Rd. I'm not saying he is going to pan out, but I think that was a major "value" pick. Joe Haden could be a star, but I don't feel confident enough in him to say it was a good pick. I think we might have been able to do a little more with the 7th overall pick than him. But I'm not complaining.

I would've liked to been a fly on the wall when Holmgren called Lerner and apolized for fucking up the draft.

Just ignore him and he'll not get any satisfaction.

Going back to the draft, just got done watching some games with our new S's. They are some heavy hitters which I like. Asante played on a very good Nebraska defense, he'll be tough.

I expect to see one of those guys starting for us in Week 1.

If your team is on here, I liked your draft...

    Seattle Seahawks
    Cincinnati Bengals
    Carolina Panthers
    Philadelphia Eagles
    New England Patriots
    Tampa Bay Bucaneers
    Kansas City Chiefs
    Detroit Lions
    NY Giants
    Baltimore Ravens
    Oakland Raiders

For you guys who don't like the Haden, Ward, Hardesty picks.. You'll be changing your minds.

I also love the McCoy pick.. The QB I wanted for this team.

    B+

(BTW, TJ Ward has been labeled as the Eric Berry of the West)

I would say a C, C+ maybe because Colt fell in our lap. Had that not happened I think there would be much more overall negativity towards this draft by fans and the media (not that they necessarily matter).

I think the thing that gets me, and I have seen this mentioned a bunch, is that in the past 2 years the Browns have had 5 second round picks and each and every one of them felt like a reach to take a guy who would have been there much later on, and was no where near the highest rated player left on the board at the time.

Loading the team up with "solid" lunch pale players at the expense of ever taking chances on guys who might straddle the line a little more but have the potential to be impact game breakers is what puts teams in the 8-8/9-7 purgatory zone where you aren't a bad team but you are maxing out your potential getting to .500%, which is seems is what they are building this roster towards.

For those of you who wanted Thomas over Haden. Do you think they could have picked a corner as good as Ward is a safety at that spot? I think Haden and Thomas were pretty even, they took the corner knowing that a good safety would be available at #38.

    I think they are near a "B".

I think they really wanted Nate Allen but he went the pick right before we took Ward.

Surprisingly according to Terry Pluto, Ward was higher up on the Browns wishlist than Nate Allen

i dont know why everyone is dogging the 2nd round picks. ward is a heck of a player and if he can be healthy he could be one hell of a saftey. and hardesty is a big back that will in a couple years run over 1000 yards. i think i read that out of his 1300 some yards 900 some were after first contact?

Thanks for citing me! I was the one who said that I heard Heckert on the radio that said 70% of Hardesty's yards last season came after first contact.

I agree, the draft was solid. I think if Hardesty didn't have injury issues then people wouldn't gripe about him. Like devil stated, he was projected as a 2nd-3rd rounder and the 5th best back. He went in round 2 as the 5th back taken so in no means was it a stretch.

Ward is similar to MoMass who everyone bitched about last year because we could have drafted Rey Rey. Yet this year it was another Trojan in Taylor Mays that has people bitching about the pick. Ward was rated higher than other beloved players like Nate Allen on the team's draft board so they got the guy they wanted. Mangini see's him as a Lawyer Malloy clone so I won't argue with that. Plus anyone complaining about Taylor Mays must have overlooked the many rumors that he is allegedly a moron.

I think all our OhioChatter doctors need to relax about the injuries. I'd trust the sports medicine guys at the Cleveland Clinic more than any analysts opinion on how a past injury may affect those guys. The Browns FO got their stamp of approval before even considering any of these guys.

I'd trust the sports medicine guys at the Cleveland Clinic, too...to add a good dose of the staph to whatever other issues these guys have had!

well the good thing is, in holmgrens first draft they gave him a d. couple years later they were playing in the superbowl. :) don't know how you can really grade a draft when they have yet to step foot on the field.

    1. What was the outcome of that superbowl?
    2. What was the state of the Seahawks when he left?

Case closed!! He's just worrying about cashing checks. You'll see.

That's comical. Bengals AND Browns draft were better than the Steelers. I'd give the Steelers a C-.
