    Kenny is on cocaine.

Well...as the king slobberer myself, I can understand the logic here. Durant is better than JBJ was at the same point in their careers. It remains to be seen how he progresses though. Not everyone continues to get batter the way the king has done.

I think Durant has the potential to be a better scorer than Lebron (then again Lebron could average 35 points if he really wanted to) due to the fact that he is 6'10, great handles, and great jump shot. I'm just not sure how he can be a better overall player. Lebron will probably still average more assists and rebounds than Durant.

I will say that it's hard to believe that Durant is only 21 years old. He is definitely ahead of his time.

False. He's close, but I disagree.

Don't agree with this guy either, I think he'll be the best in the league someday but it'll be longer than 3 years from now. LeBron is going to be on top longer than that.

Durant isn't a good of an all-around player as LeBron was at this age. Definitely as good of a scorer but that isn't the whole game--it's just the part that stands out the most.

LeBron also had a whole season of NBA experience over Durant at this point in his career.

    Lebron's Third Year Stats
    Points Per Game - 31.4
    Rebounds Per Game - 7.0
    Assists Per Game - 6.6
    Steals Per Game - 1.6

    Durant's Third Year Stats
    Points Per Game - 30.4
    Rebounds Per Game - 7.6
    Assists Per Game - 2.6
    Steals Per Game - 1.4

^^don't have time to look it up....but I'm ptretty sure Durant's fg percentage was a lot higher...and I know his free throw percentage was a lot higher.

KD can average more then lebron in everything BUT assists IMO

Durant doesn't play a lick of defense, but I agree that he can average more rebounds and points that Lebron. He is not well rounded at all though.

Lebron wasnt that good of a defender his first 3 years in the league

He can, doesn't mean he will though.

LeBron wins the scoring title if he is forced to play for W's at the end of the year.

How do you figure? KD was Above LBJ all year, and its not like he slacked off at the end of the year. LBJ would of had to of been goin for 40+ the last like week of games to pass up KD

Actually, no he wasn't above LBJ all year. That's a pretty false statement.

FWIW, LeBron led the Cavs to the NBA Finals in his fourth season. Do you guys think Durant will led the Thunder to the finals next year?
  • Hb31187
Ok here. He was above LBJ the last part of the season, and he made a push and went above lbj BEFORE LBJ started sitting out games. And while LBJ was sitting (with KD already ahead of him in scoring) KD kept up the pace and LBJ would of had to absolutely go off in order to make up that ground if he needed to win games ilke u said.

If he had a path to the finals like LBJ had yes haha

So in 3 years Durant is going to develop his passing game enough to be as good as LeBron's? I think not.
  • devil1197
Was he above LBJ before LBJ started sitting? It was honestly .1-.3 ppg difference and I am pretty sure LeBron had the lead for scoring at one point late in the season. Thats just what I thought, could be wrong.

durant is going to have to really step it up on the defensive end of the floor to be better than james
  • Hb31187
Maybe I dont watch the Cavs games close enough...But it seems to me LBJ usually doesnt guard the other teams best player? (Melo and Pierce would be the exception ive seen). I understand he has all the tools to be a lockdown defender and hes great off ball at getting blocks and steals. But KD is right with him in blocks and steals and averages the same defensive rebounds and hes called a terrible defender. So is LBJ kinda just getting the accolade of 1st team all defense because hes LBJ and hes the best player in basketball...or because hes actually one of the best 5 defenders in the NBA?

    1. Durant had one year of college hoops under his belt before entering the NBA. LeBron entered right out of HS. LeBron still had better numbers through their first 3 years.

    2. LeBron had well over 600 assists this year. Durant was around 200. LeBron mentioned he could win the scoring title every year if he chooses to do so. However he feels it is more important to get his team involved throughout the year to help in the post season. I can't say I would argue that he could score 40-50 every night if he wanted.

    3. Everyone says Durant has a better jump shot and LeBron's sucks. The FG% being as close as it is would be a strong indicator that this just isn't true. Both are in the mid 30% range from 3, and LeBron is higher overall.

    4. Defensively this isn't even worth arguing.

The only area where Durant is obviously a better player is his FT percentage.

LeBron won't guard the teams best players until end of quarter/game situations.

LeBron is deserving of the 1st team all defense award though. Its not like Howard guards Kobe/Wade or other teams best players. I never understood that rationale. LeBron could guard Kobe or Wade constantly, but does that really help the overall chances of the Cavs winning?
