If his assists are up, he would have a lower PPG.

Also, his team is god awful, and I guess so was Lebron's back in the day, but even now Lebron is still putting up ridiculous numbers even with a much better team.

HB, right now even without handling the ball all the time he averages more turnovers (3.30) than assists (2.8).

His ppg would decrease and he would average a ton of turnovers. Its better for OKC that Durant doesn't control the ball all the time like LeBron.

If he had a path to the finals like LBJ had yes haha
Sorry I'm late to this party, but I agree wholeheartedly. I mean, if one is going this route, LBJ should've led a 66-win team last year to the Finals with another prime year under his belt, and of course, better supporting cast. For the Cavs fans sake, better hope they don't goof 2 years in a row having the overall best record.

there is no way he can play till he is 40 unless his game completely changes
Why not? MJ played when he was 40 and even scored more than 40 in games. LBJ will prob have 5 more years of playing on his body than MJ did at 40, but I still think he can do it. Of course LBJ will change his game, all the great ones do to keep themselves relevant. He is a freak athlete. He'll keep himself in top shape for the next 15 years. He'll be slower, not as quick, not as athletic. But he will not be a punk. He'll still be a great passer. He'll probably have a back to the basket type of game. I could see him before a full time PG at that age, just guard SF's.

The Captain and Mailman played until they were 40, and by then, it was time to bolt. Of course, these 2 being freakish athletes, and both having a mid-range game(Kareem's Skyhook was devastating). Not so coincidently(with Jordan added), the top 3 scorers of alltime, and 2 of the 3 having 6 rings.

His 2.8 assists is not indicative of a player that could triple his assists. As I stated earlier Shaq has a career average of 2.6 assists and he is a Center. Besides, he already average 3.3 TOs a game. So I'm not sure if he is capable of being an efficient Point Forward because his TOs are so high already.

If you average 2.8 youd only need to double it really to get to near 6 a game. Im not saying he will, Im saying its not like its crazy to think he could average that for a year. More than likely he wont, but some cavs fans actl ike nobody will ever come close to touching LBJS numbers

HB, when you already average more turnovers than assists without handling the ball all the time what makes you think he can consistently average 6+ a year?

Big difference between lebron and jordan. Jordan wasnt in the league until he was 21. He missed a year and a half when he retired the first time. When he retired again he was 34. When he started playing for the wizrads he was 38. He turned 40 at midway through his last season. So he had a lot of rest to be able to play at 40.

I dont think his situation is right to avg 6+ a year so I dont think hell ever do it. Hes a young player though, given a few years and IF he had to run point forward I think he could come close to 6 a game. Not bc hes a good passer but bc of how much offensive attention hed grab without Westbrook and playin point forward.

I know, hence why I said LBJ will prob have 5 more years of playing on his body than MJ did at 40. But thanks for going into great detail about it.

Yeah I do think he will increase his assist numbers as he gains experience, but I just don't see them increasing that much(less than 5), especially with such a high TO rate already.
