Marson will be the GOAT...I feel a tingling in my leg.HitsRus wrote: I don't know how anybody could justify that trade....many times over the course of years we heard the term "salary dump" used...but no where was that more evident or obvious than in the Cliff Lee trade.
1) The trade was made a year earlier than it had to be.
2) we didn't even get any of the Phillies top prospects.
3) Cliff Lee's salary was bargained priced for a Cy Young award winner.
The trade made absolutely no baseball sense.
The only way a GM doesn't lose his job over so stupid a trade is if he had a gun to his head held by the owner...."dump his salary for whatever you can get" or some other such type of order.
Seriously...if you can't afford to pay a moderate price for a Cy Young winner, than you should sell the team to someone who can. -

I don't recall anyone in favor of the Lee trade. The Victor trade showed some promise...but not the Lee trade.newarkcatholicfan wrote:

devil1197The Lee trade was purely Dolan's wishes. Everyone knew it, even Shapiro. No one makes that trade without having the pressure from THE top guy.
Dolan needs to give it up. -

Yes...sell the fuggin team to somebody else worth 500 million that wants to win...as opposed to somone wanting to make 10% capital gains every year.devil1197 wrote: The Lee trade was purely Dolan's wishes. Dolan is a pig. -
newarkcatholicfanI am guessing it was not all the fault of wedge.

BRFI hear ya, NCF, but I still don't like Wedge.

I don't even see Marson on the list...does he have a batting average?....or does he work for the British Secret Service...e.g. 007 -

I only posted the starters...from ESPN live update box score. Yup...Marson is in the .0something range. Why did they send Brantley down? He was right there in the mix with his buck eighty three.HitsRus wrote:Footwedge wrote: Here are the tribe's batting averages to date.
