Yes he did utter, "Oh Tiger, Tiger" but he also continues to drop the F-bomb and a few "Geeeezus Chhhhhhhhhrist's" here and there just for kicks.

If he wants to become more endearing and perhaps garner a bit more sympathy Tiger needs to get a handle on his emotions. The PGA tour is also about demonstrating style, class, and professionalism. I was tired of Tiger's club bashing, mouth, and attitude even before his personal situation came to light.

Tiger's an outstanding golfer and adds a degree of challenge to the game, but his on-going arrogance, temper, and narcissism aren't the only issues in his life that need work.

That being said the Masters was enjoyable to watch. I was happy to see Phil break through and take the Green Jacket. His embrace of his wife on the 18th was touching and should serve as an example to Tiger of how things SHOULD be.

I was happy to see Fred Couples hang tough and Choi's robot-like precision until the last 9 was almost scary to watch!

Phil said he was up 'til 1am Sat. nite watching movies. His oldest daughter fell roller skating and he called a PGA doctor, who opened up and xrayed her arm at about 10pm. She has a hairline fracture. Quite a distraction to get your mind off the pressure of the golf.

Bill Simmons brought up a good point today about people getting all butt hurt over Tiger mistreating women, when they worship a club that doesn't allow women members. Specifically, Billy Payne getting up on his high horse about it is hilariously hypocritical.

    Here's the link: http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=simmons/100412

That's not a good point. No female members is not the reason they worship it. And IMO, that club is not sexist at all.
  • SQ_Crazies
The first: After Tiger birdied the 72nd hole, Jim Nantz said that Tiger had "somehow managed a 69 out of all of this," followed by me giggling like Beavis and Butt-Head for the next 30 seconds. Tiger's week at Augusta couldn't have ended any other way.
THAT cracked me up though. LMAO

It's not the reason they worship it, but they still worship a club that forbids women, yet the same people want to get on their high horse about Tiger mistreating women.

Not allowing women is nothing even close to what Tiger did.

There are private clubs in all kinds of walks of life, all over the world that don't allow women. There are also clubs that don't allow men. It shouldn't even be an issue, it's your club, you make the rules.

How much respect could someone have for women if they didn't feel they were worthy of playing golf on their course?

LOL, you're barking up the wrong tree, exactly like Simmons. This is one of the stupidest issues I've ever seen in sports. It's a great example of making a story out of nothing and forcing it down people's throats--in a way brainwashing them so that ESPN still stays relevant. All they do is put some BS twist on it to make it sound like it's an actual issue. Or they just omit other things that would shoot their argument to shit and they know it. But they don't care, they have no one to answer to and it works clearly...you're talking about it.

Yeah, you've really blown the lid off the whole thing, congrats.

Dude they're not even related issues. It's a perfect example of ESPN's BS. Not my fault you have a dildo that you call ESPN.
  • 2kool4skool
They're clearly related. Payne felt he needed to offer up his harsh opinion on Woods, and the stone went hurling through his glass house.

I have no personal allegiance towards ESPN. You on the other hand seem to have a deep hatred for them. I only hope Simmons is ready for the stream of racist e-mails that could land in his inbox at any second.

Cheating on your wife for years with 18 different women or whatever it was has absolutely zero connection to being a member of a club that doesn't allow women or to the club itself.
  • I Wear Pants
Don't make fun of someone (Tiger) for having no respect for women when you don't even respect women enough to let them play on your golf course.
  • SQ_Crazies
LMAO! Apples and oranges. You guys are funny.
  • I Wear Pants
Different scenarios but both are ways to disrespect women. They aren't all that different and I don't think it's so hard to see why comparisons are made.
  • SQ_Crazies
It is hard to see. If a man that has never cheated on his wife of 20 years or even thought about it is a member of that club, he doesn't have the right to be critical of Woods? That makes no sense whatsoever.

How about women or African-Americans who want EQUAL rights and are part of clubs exclusive to them?

Point being, it's your club, you make the rules. Not allowing women into your club is not a sign of disrespect to them.
  • SQ_Crazies
If there were a sign hanging on the front door that said all women are cunts, then I may agree with you. That's disrespectful. Simply having an exclusive club is not disrespectful.
  • ohiotiger33
^^ It is a bit disrespectful. But not as much as cheating on your wife. I think they both show disrespect, but on different levels. Augusta has the right to do what they want, as Tiger technically had no legal issues stopping his promiscuity.
  • SQ_Crazies
But how do we explain clubs for women that are exclusive to women?

Do you feel disrespected by not being able to participate in some female gardening club?

    It's not disrespect.

Oh no I said African-American, I'm such a dirty racist.

I gotta say, that just made me a huge Phil Mickelson fan. Wearing the Green Jacket to Krispy Kreme the day after winning the Masters. Absolutely awesome.
