Mile and 40
-
Ironman92If you had to do a mile run and a 40 yard dash (FAT timing)....what would your times be?
-
SpockWell I am 45 and can run a 5:20 mile, 40 time is some where around 5 flat.
I can also do 15 pull ups. -
Ironman92
I know you are a runner. 5:20 at 45 is solid. I definitely would need video evidence of the 5.00 40 official time. It's not impossible for me to believe but would be more apt to believe 5.2-5.3.Spock;1857795 wrote:Well I am 45 and can run a 5:20 mile, 40 time is some where around 5 flat.

Regardless, both damn impressive for anyone over 36. -
SpockI have a power and speed group I work with. We run 40's all the time and run them sometimes. Depending on other training of I am fresh I can get moving.
Haven't broke 5 in awhile but 5.2-3 is pretty normal.
BTW...the 2 distances picked here are random. -

I know they are random but also figured most could give close times on.Spock;1857797 wrote:I have a power and speed group I work with. We run 40's all the time and run them sometimes. Depending on other training of I am fresh I can get moving.

You guys using stop watches on your 40's? -
SpockYea. Hand times.
-
Ironman92I'm almost 43....out of shape.
My mile around 9:15 and hand times 40 at 5.8...but FAT would be 6.0-6.1 -
SpockStandard deviation between hand time and FAT is .24
-
saltoSub 8 minute mile and sub 8 second 40.

Yes. At meets If using a stopwatch do you:Spock;1857803 wrote:Standard deviation between hand time and FAT is .24
you are clocked at 5.52...you round it up to 5.6? Then if want an FAT conversion add the .24....turning it into 5.84.
My son in jr high track and parents couldn't understand why their kid ran 11.9 at small meet and then at official FAT meet run a 12.24. -
FatHobbitSlow as molasses on a cold cloudy day.

Belly35At 67 years old I don't run.
-
SpockIn the last 18 months I have also done a 18:40 5k, 1:30.30 1/2 marathon and a 3:20 full marathon (3:15 full 20 months ago)
-
like_thatI haven't really timed my mile, but the last time i ran a 5K my first mile was 5:50. Haven't timed my 40 since high school.
-
SonofanumpGuessing 6:15 mile, low 5's 40. Usually pace 7:30 for 5K.
24 pull ups with momentum, 16 from dead stop at bottom. -
IliketurtlesRight now I'm guessing a sub 8 minute mile and sub 7 second 40. Far cry from what I once could do.
-
iclfan2Man, some of y'all are fast. Right now my fastest mile would probably be between 7:00 and 7:30, probably closer to 7:30. Last November I finally broke 25 minutes in a 5k (its the only 5k I run a year) which is about 8 minutes a mile.

Commander of AwesomeAccording to strava my top mile time is 6:19, but I can run faster. My gym is .8 miles away and I'll run there in the morning at a 5:50 pace. I'm confident I could run a sub 6 min mile. My usual mile time on my med-longer runs are around 7:45-8:15 though.
No clue on my 40 time. -

ptown_trojans_1Yeah, we have some fast dudes on here.
I'm still not in great running shape, but am up to a 7 miles on the weekends. I average about a 9 minute mile for that.
40 times, phhh. I'm white, so it would be hilariously bad. -

supermanSub 10 in both would make me happy.

thavoice40---No idea but probably not very good. I don't start out fast.
1 mile....likely low to mid 6 minute range. I have been getting 14-14:10 in my last 3-4 2 mile run tests so knowing I don't have to save myself for the extra mile I am confident a 6:15-6:30 mile is attainable.
