Can we also change our logo to something more minor league? Perhaps a left hand scrawl of Ohio Chatter?

Here is a list of the most famous person born in each county. Based on this I would go with John Holmes, Scott Hamilton, Phyllis Diller, and Bob Evans.

I don't think this should be sports based, I am going with:

    Gibwok
    Mothman
    Pizza in a skillet
    A crouton

If I were doing a serious list and it didn't have to be sports based I would do:

Neil Armstrong (most obvious choice, IMO)
    Jack Nicklaus
    Jesse Owens
    Barry Larkin (homer pick)

I met Bob several times while at Rio Grande. His son is married to a local Jackson lady....he's always around town. Steve Evans (as in the sausage)

What an interesting list! Great reading.

FWIW - Bobby Knight was born in Massillon because there was no hospital in Orrville at that time.

Those 4 give a mix of track, golf, football and basketball.

Connections to: Cleveland, Akron, Massillon, Columbus and Cincinnati

If Lebron James isn't on the list, I will leave the forums.

    Thanks.

I just changed my list of nominations.

LeBron and Jack seem to be the 2 consensus picks.

I'll get a poll up for the last two spots when I get a chance.

    Great list.

If it were non-sports people born in Ohio I would think the following would be at the top:

    Thomas Edison
    Neil Armstrong
    Orrville Wright
    Bob Hope
    - plus several US presidents

Other sports greats would be Cy Young and Branch Rickey
